Zonealarm/Trojan question

Featured Replies

Hi All,

After a skype call yesterday I noticed a warning from Zonealarm & duly followed their instructions re getting rid of it, however I am no longer able to access the net from that computer (samsung netbook/windows 7). I contact their online support & received a lengthy list of instructions which as yet haven't corrected the problem (I waiting until this morning as I knew it would take time).

Can anyone offer a quick fix?

Note: The offending file was marked "HEUR Trojan" by my ZA

I only use that computer for Skype & TV therefore i'm unlikely to lose anything.

ZA online support is currently offline (America) but i'll contact them again if need be.

I should add that my connection shows "limited access".

Thanks. I've tried everything & failed miserably. Zonealarm online support is usually good but their ideas didn't work either. It's going into the shop tomorrow if I haven't managed to lob it discuss-like into the sea on the way there:)

(I've had some serious "Basil Fawlty" moments today!)

No need to put it into the shop. What are you thinking? Worst case scenario, back up your data and run a factory restore. Couple of hours and you'll be back up and running after all updates. Problem solved.

What's the full model number of this machine?

Thanks. Restore was the answer but I had my local shop do it as I wasn't getting anywhere. THB 350 well spent:)

Don't you have any antivirus installed?

Yes, Zone alarm picked up and neutralized the problem but i couldn't get online afterwards.
