Lost 90 Day Receipt Of Notification

Featured Replies

Have just done my 90 day report at Chaengwattana Immigration. No problems nice and easy, took 20 mins, as mid week, and not many there, also got an re entry permit and that took 15 mins, arrive 0825 leave 0930.

Anyway my friend who came with me as well, for 90 day report lost his RECIEPT OF NOTIFICATION . He was told he has to report to Police as lost, and then return. He thinks its somewhere in his room so is going to look first, as report date is 4th Nov, and has 7 days after that as well.

Question is, is there any fine imposed ion this? as he is thinking there might be or is it just a case of report it get some reference number, return attach it to the TM47, and then he is processed as normal.

Thanks for any info on this

They will check their records to see if he made the last report. If not there he would need to pay the 2000 baht fine.

Yes he did make the last report, as he did it the same day as me, in August, and both of us were due on the 4th Nov.

But could they not check on the system today, to see his last report? I know the receipt is now barcoded, and makes life easier (assumption this is) for them, but search passport number, surname?

They can check their records without bar code.

I think the police report is punishment for loosing the receipt.

That's my thinking as well.

Oh well once he turns his room upside down I am sure he will find it.

He has another problem/query which is off topic I will post that question latter.

You do HAVE to report it to your nearest Police station they may charge you 20 baht! Mine was lost in the post when they (claimed) they sent it back from CW. Even with the police report they were not happy back at CW, but no fine. If it's on record why do they give you a stupid bit of paper that is so easy to lose? and make a fuss when it is.

Immigration neatly folds mine and staples it inside my passport. Hard to loose it that way.

Why do they give you the piece of paper? To make it easier for you to remember the date. Sounds like a sensible idea to me, not a stupid one.

To the OP - if your friend thinks the notification is in his room, why didn't he look for it BEFORE going to immigration? And why doesn't he keep all important documents in one place so that they're easy to find? Seems like some people on here will do anything to make their lives more difficult. And then some think that it's still the fault of immigration. You have laugh.

That's fine but it's not just to remind you when you have to go obviously, if it were why do they make such a fuss over a loss? They know you reported last time, you know you have to turn up on a certain date so that's where the stupid part comes in, try doing it without your bit of paper and see what they say.

The paper is also a notification for the police which if you are required to produce your passport, proves you have completed your 90 day report..

Maybe to make sure that people take more care so that their job is a little easier. Foreigners read these forums, see what happens, and then they'll be more careful (hopefully). Just guessing. They are probably asking why foreigners find it so difficult to hang on to a piece of paper. The process is incredibly simple, yet so many foreigners find away to mess it up. Must be a nightmare for immigration with all the excuses they get.

Your case is obviously a little different, as it was lost in the post. What did they say when you told them it hadn't arrived? Didn't they offer a replacement?

A few years back I went to CM Immigration to extend my stay on Non-B. As I was being processed they noticed my 90 days receipt was missing. I had forgotten and left it 300km away from CM at home. Luckily I was able to walk over to the 90 days office across the car park and they looked me up and just wrote me a new one. I was processed and everything went well. The only difference between me and the OP's friend was I knew where mine was but not on my person. I am sure the immigration officer, if spoken to nicely will just rewrite one for your friend.
