Reports of fai dap in Hua Hin area on Halloween

I've lived in Hua Hin for five years and have learned to accept the power failures (though not the truly horrible broken roads). We used to lose the lights more frequently, though just within the last week this whole area was blacked out for most of the night. What I find interesting is that the tourist area -- the center of town between Petchkasem Road and the sea -- never loses its power. When the electricity goes off I jump on the motorbike and roar off toward the beach and all those bright lights and Swedes and 200 baht beer place, where I enjoy a bottle of soda water and read my book.

I have lived in 4 different houses in Hua Hin over the last 8 years and wouldn't say it was a major problem at all

Sure it goes off now and again but usually back on within a hour

2 power outages yesterday in Hang Dong/CM - about 4 - 5 hours......

Of course in the 6th inning of the last World Series game after not missing a minute of any of the games prior

No we didnt have any down time, but we had a number of power dips last night. The computers, wifi router and TV's work through UPS's and beep when the power dips.

Just part of life here, no problem as long as my beer stays cold in the fridge.

When I look at TV I think a lot of people have bigger problems in life compared to a few minutes 'fai dap' in Hua Hin

There were two outages in the Khao Tao area last month, one mid afternoon to early evening - about 3 hours - and the other early morning 3 am to around 7:15 am, The longest in eight years and seem to be associated with heavy rain.
