BANGKOK, Nov 4 – Relatives of victims of Bangkok’s 2010 political upheaval met Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at Government House today to show their support for the Amnesty Bill.

Tears brimming in her eyes, Ms Yingluck expressed appreciation to her supporters and called on all parties to extend pardon to others for the sake of the country.

She said the government has yearned for national reconciliation and progress, instead of repeated losses.

Somchai Jiampol, a representative of those who lost family members in the 2010 incident, said the group wanted to give the premier moral support and they believed the Amnesty Bill was the best legislation ever drafted.

He said the government should move on and they were willing to pardon though they still felt the pain of their losses.

Anongporn Prasupan, widow of a slain protester in the clashes at Bon Kai, in Lumphini, said she would be willing to bear the pain though those who ordered the murder of her husband would be set free.

“I simply want the country to move on. I do not believe that we have become a political tool in expressing our support to the Amnesty Bill,” she said.

Ms Yingluck said no matter what the outcome will be, not all parties would be satisfied with it but “we should be kind enough to pardon others.” (MCOT online news)

Aaaaaw, bless... poor wee girl being made to cry because her brother can't be home with the family.

You lot really are a bunch of heartless, cynical barstewards...whistling.gif

Ahh diddums!!

Think what another christmas without him will be like...........oops!!! I forgot they don't really celebrate this being Buddhists.

I'm surprised that she is aware of the demonstrations actually as she doesn't seem to know anything about the amnesty as "parliament is dealing with it and it is absolutely nothing to do with her"!! She seems to have taken a bit more interest now that it is all going so pear-shaped, and rapidly!!

This hasn't a hope of coming to fruition now as she has been sussed out by her supporters - it is obvious that Thaksin planned this revision right from the start. Another in a long list of failures of his numerous bird brained schemes and underhand tactics!!

Nowhere to go on this now - no wonder Yingluck is crying as she has failed in her remit as PM to get her brother back to where he is not wanted and doesn't belong,

It's never a good idea for a political leader to shed tears in public. Ed Muskie was the undisputed shoo-in front runner for the US Democratic nomination in '72 until he cried in public about some nasty editorial against him. As I recall, they said unkind things about his wife. Recently, John "Boner" Boehner cried in public, and his party is now preparing to slow roast him on the rotisserie. Bye bye Speaker's job, hello Akron.

You guys on here, seem to have a contest going about who can out-cleverly-cynic all of your fellow sufferers. Always ranting on about "thieves" and "criminals". From what I can see, what we of the West call graft and corruption is the age-old way of doing business and politics here, and that will never, never change. It's a case of, which criminal cabal do you prefer?

Mr. T is coming back. All of your ranting and raving won't stop that. What he does when he gets here is anybody's guess. Are you all going to fly home to your countries because your hallowed concept of justice has been violated? I doubt it.

One more thing: was the last outfit in power any better? Any less corrupt? Really? If PT loses, will the next gang fulfill your high ideals of how things are supposed to be? I suspect there will be just as much complaining on TV, no matter who is on top. Impotent rage, is what this is.

Meanwhile, lovely Mmme Y is welcome to dry her tears on my shirt, Can't help it. I love her!

... and next: a photo of UDD leader Jatuporn with Ghandi Tshirt while standing on the 'peaceful protesters, not terrorist' stage at Ratchaprasong, 2010

Yingluck is speaking about forgiving... while everyone else is speaking about fighting. What she says is far nicer than what I can read here. It looks like it is "forgive against revenge"... Quite ugly indeed.attachicon.gifImageUploadedByThaivisa Connect Thailand1383605363.992663.jpg Sent from my iPhone...

Hard to beat that for BS.

The whole farce was just scripted like a soap opera in a failed attempt to gain sympathy. Continuing along local soap opera lines, following Thaksin's rape of Thailand, all is forgiven and the country will marry him.

post-46292-0-66484700-1383645144_thumb.j Overcome, I thank you three times for turning up in support of the Government as per the compensation agreement

I think you will find this less traumatic than the compensation ceremony where we presented you with the oversized joke cheques, and insisted you sign a disclaimer

Oh so now she cries again. Sorry ii-puu but no one's buying those tears. You and your puppet government can go F yourselves.

F yourselves? Certainly there are alternate words to describe what she can do which are more descriptive and project a vivid picture of the desired effect.

If you meant something such as F, as in Fornicate, then I beg your indulgence and request your pardon.

We will forgive everyone EXCEPT THE FUGITIVE ON THE RUN, now will you stop crying ? No ? Thought not. This show if crocodile tears is purely for her darling brothers benefit....

And why are you willing to keep a whole country into trouble for only one man?

Strange thinking...

Just curious, could this girl be a PM in any other country?

Of course my PM bowed to the Chinese President and wanted to run a government but can't run a website....but that's another matter. blink.png

Commenting on mounting protests against the amnesty bill, Yingluck said she would like to call on all sides to have sympathy for others and forgive their opponents as well as having compassion for others.

sympathy for others and forgive their opponents

Just like the PTP are doing to Abhist.

She is such a wonderful example of what an air head would say.36_12_8.gif

The only positive aspect I can see with this amnesty bill is that the greedy and easily led families of the deceased(as shown in the pic above), that rioted and died for Thaksin's personal interests, will get the shock of their lives when they realise they have to give back the 7.5 million they trousered for their dead relatives. With interest! Will they take consolation that the money is going to a good cause? 46 billion to Thaksin, or 60 billion with interest. A quite hilarious situation that sums up the phrase "Serves you right!"
