I am gathering all the required papers for Non Imm "O" marriage (single/multi entry to be decided in Dec).

I believe Thai embassy (mine will be Singapore) may need Thai spouse's letter to prove that I am her husband. Of course the letter will be in Thai.

Can anyone tell me what the best words should express that?

For example, I, name of Thai spouse, ID number, can confirm Mr X, Passport number is my husband. And he currently live with me in Home address. Signature (and date?).

Will that do enough satisfy Thai Embassy's expectation?

Appreciate responses wai.gif

P.S. My apologises - I am unable to see how I can remove the duplicate one.

You will require marriage certificate and copy plus copy of her ID card and home register. These copies should be signed and dated by her so they know current. This is a minimum requirement for single entry visa at almost all Consulates now. The letter or note is sometimes asked and does not have to be in any formal format - just indicating she whats you issued a visa and current date.

Sorry if my earlier message is not clear enough. Of course, marriage cert, Id card, home register, birth cert for daughter & 400K proof are mandatory and I also believe Thai spouse's letter should be provided as well. I am just curious what her letter should look like? Handwriting must be preferred, will one or two lines be enough to prove I am her husband?

The letter just needs to request the Embassy/Consulate issue a visa to facilitate you visiting your wife. It is not "proof" of your being her husband the other documentation provides the "proof"

dear Tony in Phuket

how did you get on with your visa application for Thai spouse via singapore???

I'm hoping to do the same soon

Unless you are from Singapore you will only get a single entry non-o visa. They will not do a multiple entry.

The only nearby location doing multiple entry non-o visas based upon marriage is Savannakhet Laos.

I've emailed my documents to them at orchid road and I'm awaiting a reply, but I need multi entry, I'm from the UK

This is a section of the email from Singapore

"You have to fill in 1 form, 1 photo, letter from your wife to request for your visa to stay with her in Thailand, copy of her passport and identity card which she have to sign, copy of your marriage certificate, copy of air ticket to go in to Thailand, your updated bank statement of at least 400,000 bahts, fee of S$250 for Non-Immigrant O visa valid for multiple entries for 1 year. Each entry will allow you to stay for 90 days, further extension you have to request from the Immigration in Thailand. Submit in the morning 9.15 to 11.30 am, Monday to Friday, processing time will be 2 working days"

I will travel wed 26 so I should know by Friday

If you were to make a trip to Savannakhet Laos there would be no maybes or a need to show the 400K baht in the bank.

If you have the 400K baht in the bank you could get an extension of stay at immigration.

I do NOT have any type of Thai visa, I cannot make an extension, I need to make a visa outside of Thailand, I have chosen Singapore, I'm here just now, part 1, the application went without any hitch, I will report more tomorrow (Thursday ) if my application for marriage visa is successful.
