Sailing opportunities?

Featured Replies

Hey all!

I'm eagerly looking for opportunities to sail. Does anybody know, is it possible on Phuket to get into someone's crew on a yacht or something?

For example, I've heard that there's a big regatta at the end of December, is it possible to crew there? Where should I look for such opportunities?

I've got some experience: 3 weeks of sailing, 700 miles and RYA Day Skipper, need to practice!

I'm on Koh Samui right now, so I can't just go and ask in marinas yet. There's no yachting here on Samui, but I've heard that there are lots of yachts on Phuket. So I'm considering moving there if I find something.

Is there any Phuket's sailing online community or something like that?

Ao Chalong Yacht Club could be a good place to start, and from your name, another source of information could be a Russian Yacht Club that's situated in Boat Lagoon Marina.

Monthly racing out of Ocean Marina Yacht Club, Pattaya normally the 2nd weekend of every month.

Pattaya has great sailing conditions.

Thanks for your replies guys!

It's good that there are sailing conditions and events there. And I've got the idea that I should visit local yacht clubs personally (and I will).

But are there any local online communities to discuss that? I mean local yachting events and stuff, where is it all discussed usually?

Try Sailing Anarchy?

It is an international forum but quite active in the region.
