I was at a visa shop in Pattaya today exploring my options for tourist visa/ ed visa etc.

I like many others , am under 50 years old and not married to a Thai national. . I own property here and within reason am financially solvent. Irrespective of your financial status you can no longer obtain Non "O" from any of the UK consulates.

So today the lady at the visa services shop mentioned ( with conviction) to me that the landborder rules are about to change back from 14 days to 30 days again. I'm sure many will remember the impact this had on many people when they trimmed to 15 days a few years ago.

Can "Thai Visa" verify, or the more knowledgeable members validate if there is truth in this. Tonight I only managed to find limited info on the net. This is a good option for me and i'm sure many more. A quick motorcycle ride to Cambodia is very pleasurable once per month and solves visa issues when a month extension is all that is required .

info found on the net, (unconfirmed and not from official Thai Embassy )

"As of November 1, 2013 travellers holding UK, US, Japanese, German, French, Canadian and Italian passports are now eligible for a 30-day visa-free entry when entering Thailand by a land crossing, as opposed to the 14 days they were granted previously"

A German friend of mine got stamped out of Tachilek with a 3 month visa last week.

When he checked at a Visa Lawyer on his return they stated that his visa is valid now for 3 months.

Why there is not much news on this, but the above post states 3 weeks, he now has 3 months!

Maybe good news all round.
