Phuket ready to host Andaman Travel Trade 2013

PHUKET, 16 November 2013 (NNT) - Phuket province is planning to hold the 6th Andaman Travel Trade 2013 event during November 21-23 with an aim to promote tourism in 5 southern provinces on the Andaman coast.

Together with the Tourism and Sports Ministry, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Phuket Tourist Association, the province of Phuket is ready to organize the Andaman Travel Trade 2013, during which over 300 tour agents from 27 countries will get to meet with tourism operators from 5 Andaman coastal provinces, comprising Ranong, Trang, Krabi, Phang Nga and Phuket.

At the event, each province’s uniqueness will be highlighted in order to attract more foreign visitors and boost tourism income for the country.

Ranong will showcase its health and wellness tourism while Trang will promote conservative tourism. Phuket will be presented as the place for man-made recreational activities and entertainment. Meanwhile, Phang Nga will focus on the more secluded attractions and Krabi on outdoor activities it has to offer. This strategy is expected to pave the way for sustainable tourism in the country.

The 6th Andaman Travel Trade 2013 will take place from November 21-23 at the Duang Chanok Convention Hall of Duangjitt Resort and Spa, Phuket province.
