PHUKET: -- A French tourist leaching yellow pus from the back of his neck prompted fears that he might infect other passengers at Phuket International Airport on Friday.

Airport authorities removed Michel Dominique Godfroy, 56, from the international departure lounge a little after 11:30pm.

“We were called to the airport at 11:45pm,” a Kusoldharm Foundation rescue worker told the Phuket Gazette.

The rescue workers took Mr Godfroy to Thalang Hospital, where the Frenchman at first resisted nurses’ attempts to clean and dress the wound.

“He refused any treatment for over an hour. Each time a nurse dressed the wound, he pulled it off,” the rescue worker said. “All the while, the Frenchman kept singing.”

Hospital staff called the Tourist Police, whose presence convinced Mr Godfroy to accept the medical assistance being administered.

“Over the weekend, doctors had Mr Godfroy transferred to Vachira Hospital Phuket, where he is still receiving treatment for the wound on his neck,” Capt Akachai Siri of the Tourist Police in Phuket Town told the Gazette today.

“Doctors have performed some basic tests, and are concerned for Mr Godfroy’s current mental state. They have contacted the French embassy so officials can get in touch with his relatives and make appropriate arrangements for getting Mr Godfroy safely home,” he said.

Click the link and look at the other pictures. It doesn't look like a "little" pus, it looks like a ton.

I would not like to be sitting next to that pus factory for twelve hours imagine the smell after a couple of hours phew that mixed with the garlic breath

I agree with them for removing him and not allowing him to board the plane in that condition. Yes they have the authority to remove a person from an airport but what authority do they have to forcefully give a person medical treatment against their will. If he didn't want his wound treated then so be it and he doesn't get on a plane.

so after the Russian bashing ... here comes the French Bashing ...... how nice !!

It's actually a bit heart-warming. I sometimes get tired of all the Thai-bashing that goes on around here... nice to see 'farangs' dishing it at 'farangs' as well. Even application... smile.png

[seriously, it just goes to show how small our tribes are. As a group of TV readers, we all seem to get offended when a 'generic farang' is given a hard time of it here, but it doesn't take much to get us to go after each other ... gotta love human nature].

From the angle of the picture taken, the guy looks asian not european. Anyway, I hope they treat his leaking boil. Maybe he was on some kind of meds that made him happy to be singing. I hope he gets home safe and leak-free.

There are many Asians in France. Look at how many countries these Imperialistic Colonials occupied. wai2.gif
