webfact
PM Yingluck says at censure debate nobody manipulating current administrationBANGKOK, 27 November 2013 (NNT) – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday asserted at the censure debate her administration had been managing the country without being manipulated by anyone, and that it was able to make progress in fighting corruption. The censure debate on Prime Minister Yingluck and Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan commenced with Opposition Chief Whip Churin Laksanawisit's accusation of the prime minister having misconducted her work, having facilitated benefits toward her own group. Interior Minister Charupong was also accused of the same issues.Opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva then elaborated that governance under the Yingluck administration promoted corruption and the avoidance of inspection process. Regulations were issued to facilitate the averting of the National Anti-Corruption Commission's scrutiny. He also accused the prime minister of ignoring government members' declarations they would not accept the authority of the Constitutional Court. In addition, Mr. Abhisit asserted the government tried to issue the amnesty bill to reduce the power of the courts and to aid those guilty of corruption.Opposition members of parliament then took turns criticizing the work of the government, and accusing the administration of having selected Cabinet ministers based on guidance by former prime minister Thaksin Shinwatra.Ms. Yingluck clarified all accusations, asserting that the work of the government had been in accord with what it had earlier promised Parliament, and that the selection of cabinet minister was based on the capacity of each individual. The prime minister also brushed aside the accusation of not heeding the advice of the NACC and accomodating corruption, saying the government had worked with all sectors to tackle corruption and made suppression of corruption an urgent national agenda, to be pursued along with the urgent issues of the economy and the well-being of the public.Regarding the amnesty bill, Ms. Yingluck explained it did not contain any content about returning seized assets to any individual, and that it was definitely not a money-related law.-- NNT 2013-11-

Saving it for later today are they? Don't tell us that you believe she did well? A 6 year old would have performed better. We all know that no matter what will be debated, the result will be as the boss in Dubai - HK - Montenegro - or wherever he is now, will say.

BKKBrit
Mark my words..all of you wishing for this coalition to fail will wish (very soon) that you hadn't harboured such thoughts.Very short-signed IMO. This country is on the verge of something bigger and nastier than most of you could imagine. Quaffing your beers in some bar will not make the situation any rosier either. Don't think you all won't be affected if the two parties do not start talking. This should, I agree, have been initiated a long time ago and apologies from PT to the electorate offered. But it's never too late. I remain hopeful. Interestingly, the rift in your beloved Democratics, seems to underscore the seriousness of the situation but they are toothless to rein in Suthep. He's out of control and for one demanding that PT play to the law, interesting he doesn't turn himself in to face the charges. Pot black?

rubl
Does the truth have a 'retention date'? Not valid after ... ... ? Is the current government of PM Yingluck not in place since July 2011? bigbamboo
Well she would say that, wouldn't she? Of course everybody knows that BB has been running the show ever since he plucked her from the chorus line to be the next face of Pheu Thai. It wasn't her fault she had no political experience or that Abhisit would have her for breakfast in a parliamentary debate so she needed help and lots of it and still does. That's just the way it is.

Popular Post slapout
The few sweeping shots I have seen of the debate would indicate the majority of MP's are thumbing their nose at the opposition, the people and their sworn duty, by their absence. Granted their is virtually no chance of successly impeachment by the opposition, but a little intrest in what has upset so many Thai people should not be too much to ask. This is the type of behavior we have grown used to by many of the cabinet members, but the elected and even the party list people should know better. The Prime Minister seems to spend a lot of time in the powder room and the real issues that have been directed at both subjects of these proceding have not been directly addressed by either. The PM has had two years to familarize herself with the working of her populist programs, their shortcoming, etc. To call on cronies to answer charges directed at her personally, just demonstrates the attitude which a vast majority of this government have assumed from day 1.

Pot black? yes it will probably be bad but not as bad as letting Taksin take over totally and impose his one party mugabwie style dictatorship onto Thailand. Their is no point in talking either Taksin goes and then problem goes or he wins as simple as that. I've lived here 30 years and have my family here. This has been brewing for last 10 years and its a all out war now. Hopefully they can get rid of Taksin and his clan and then I assure you things will be ok not great but ok. If they don't then it will end as a police state or civil war. Personally while I loathe most in Taksins party since they are all totally cowardly people at least on dens side some have guts to stand up themselves instead of sending thugs while sitting by pool. Taksin and his clan aren oat dispicable cowardly evil lot IMO ever and even other evil people like Mugabwie, Saddam, even loathsome Hitler lead from front mostly unlike your great leader who is about as cowardly as anyone can be. HOw anyone can admire or support such a pathetic person is beyond me.

I would like to know why you think you can imagine something "bigger and nastier" than other people can - yet you fail to elaborate what this might be. I would also like to know why you think those that don't share your apocalyptic vision should be sitting in bars "quaffing beers". Many of us have lived here for decades, have Thai families and don't frequent Soi Cowboy or Nana Plaza, but have a real stake in the country and its future. I have "marked your words", and I think they are stupid and you are full of sh*t.
