The one in April is the Bangkok International Motor Show (vs the Motor Expo on now) and is arguably the more famous of the two. Same format at both.

I prefer the motor expo - more fun for kids to see race cars, and lots of booths for buying stuff. My son also enjoyed Russ Swifts driving a couple of years ago. The wife finds it a bit of a drag though lol

I went to the Expo on Sunday. It was a bit difficult to find parking, but the show was a little boring for me. If you are interested in the latest models from the Japanese companies, plenty to see. Subaru have the new BRZ on the stand.

I was surprised the Bentleys had the price tags. Only 23.5 mil for a Continental GT. I thought it was well over 30.

VW only have vans this year. MTM had 3 Audis here. The Q5 and the A8 Hybrid were sold. The A5 was still available.

Skoda had a stand, too. The Superb might be a good option. Did not see any prices.

A bunch of Indian and Chinese truck stands. You can get a new mini truck for 329k.

All of the expo promotions are also available at all dealer locations. I read that this expo is a push to get sales numbers up before year end. Most mass market brands have 0% finance on some models. Honda is offering 5 yr warranty instead of normal 3 during the show.

TR- I also wonder if the April motor show would offer better deals. Gut feeling is more of the same- no discounts and generally lame incentives. Have to say though, 0% finance can easily save 150,000 because of the way interest is calculated here!

Rate x total baht financed x years financed=interest paid

No amortization or reduced interest over time. No discount for early pay off either.

What about the prettys ?

BTW, a bunch of us waited at the Morchit's carpark this afternoon, hoping to hop on to the minibus that will bring us to IMPACT for 30 baht each. We waited for an hour, and there was no sign that the minibus was operating today (Father's Day).

Does anyone know if there are still minibuses shuttling between Morchit and IMPACT ? Any other alternatives ?

Yep...as at the Pattaya Chevy dealer today and they have a big sign out front advertising a match of all show promotions. On promo is zero percent over 60 mos on the Trailblazer.

Yep, car finance here is flat-rate. Other forms of finance (house loans, credit cards, personal loans etc) are APR though.

As for early payout - most lenders offer a 50% discount on the remaining interest due (based on the rule of 78 though), but that's moot with 0% :P

Oh? Hadn't heard of any early payout discount. Good to hear. That would blur the difference between 0% on some brands vs 1.59% current offer on the CRV. The hurdle is paying 50,000 US for a 30,000 US soft roader! CX5 and Tuscon both cost more than CRV here.

Off to the Motor Expo. Will scope out the shuttle situation, too.
