Need Expats Advice Backpacker Missing In Xieng Kok, Laos

Featured Replies

Could forum members please help with advice, assistance, theories, general brainstorming, ( - sarcastic comments) in finding out what happened to Ryan Chicovsky a 24 year old backpacker who disappeared in mid march from the Khem Khong guesthouse in Xieng Kok, Laos. Passport and other possessions were found in his room.

I don't want to post the entire long story here its at http://www.ryanchicovsky.blogspot.com/ scroll down to the "Official Family Statement" for the detailed story of what he was doing and where he was at before he disappeared.

Obviously, the first conclusion is he got mixed up in something to do with the drug trade but by family accounts he wasn't into drugs. The US embassy and a crisis management company from the US have been involved but have not had any luck.

Any less than obvious theories, ideas? What would you do to find out what happened?

Thanks for any help.

I am not able to offer any help but wish you the best of luck for a happy ending to this story.

I too wish you every luck in your quest.

Gosh, sorry, that's horrible. I expect you've tried all the official channels? The are some journalists living in Thailand who have been in Laos, in 'captivity' before. Maybe you could Google and try to find one to talk to.

My thoughts are with you. Hopefully, the continued pressure and publicity will yield results.

He is dead for sure :D

Make a new visit to the Khem Khong guesthouse for further "questioning" :o

I agree with Patex that the only way you will ever get any answers is to visit Laos yourselves.
