December 3, 201312 yr Does anybody know if there is a shop in Chumphon where I can get a Divers watch battery replaced so it is still waterproof? Steve
December 3, 201312 yr mate, you have to make sure they can do it inside a vacuum set up so that it remains airtight. I replace my divers watch(seiko too) battery myself these days as I do not dive anymore and just need it to be waterproof which it is even if I do it as the seal is still good, once it is tightened back down it is ok and I still wear mine while in the water, shower, swimming snorkelling etc, just not going under too far. If you still dive you might have to check with a dive shop for a recomended shop but I would want to watch them do it as they will probably just do the same as me then charge you big time.
December 5, 201312 yr I had yhe battery replaced in my dive watch/computer in Samui. They had to send it off someplace and have it checked. Cost me 1200 baht but it still works fine. Often wonder if they opened it up, replaced the battery and put it a draw for two weeks and then gave it back to me!
December 5, 201312 yr You can most certainly do the replacement yourself All you need to remember is - Prior to replacing the back cover, you need to unscrew crown pull out crown )Like adjusting the time) 1 pry out back cover 2 replace battery 3 unscrew crown pull it out 4 inspect o ring seal then put back rear cover 5 inspect o ring on crown, adjust time and screw back in Viola you're done!
December 13, 201312 yr Mate, as a matter of fact I have just replaced mine myself today, bought the battery from Robinsons, they will also replace the battery for you too but dont do the vacuum seal. As long as you are not diving it is fine, it is only if you are doing anything over a couple of metres you really need it done.
