We will be traveling around Thailand for about 15 days going to Tak then travel to Mai Homg Son on the scenic road to Pai then to Mai soi in Chaing rai Then to Chiang Khong .

Woud like to do day trips in to Burma and Laos when in those areas that have border crossings

but we have a pup 3 months old and have no were to leave her so she is coming with us.

Can we take her in to Burma and Laos we will have all the necessary vaccines for Thailand

Thanks in advance

I think you may be giving yourself a bigger problem than you need.

Animal movements are controlled and especially in the smaller areas you may find problems in getting paperwork done.

On the other hand these being Asian countries you may get the whole problem ignored. I presume you are going by car.

You are aware of course that a visa is needed for each entry into Laos and each visa sticker will take up a full page.

Don't believe for a minute that both Myanmar and Laos do not have strongly enforced animal control laws. There is probably more international pressure for cross border animal enforcement than human because of the concerns about animal borne viruses and diseases. You will be taking a big chance for a lot of problems, especially with a dog that young. Worse case scenario would be the dog could be seized and put into quarantine, not probable but possible and not worth the chance.

A kennel, even just for a few days is also not a good idea for a dog that young. My family lost a dog many years ago from a disease she almost certainly contracted while boarded in a kennel.

Yes you can no problems whatsoever. I have a friend who regularly takes his dog over the border (to Thailand) on shopping trips and has never been asked anything. I and many friends have bought dogs in Thailand and brought them into Laos, no questions asked. I often see women carrying small dogs through the border.

Don't take your eyes off it for a second or it'll be cooking in someone's pot before you know it.

That was exactly my first thought on the matter. Leave the pooch at home with someone you can trust.
