For Brits

George Osborne has announced "More British pensioners living abroad will be forced to prove they are alive in order to keep their state pension".

Question ? Is it possible and would it be valid for Immigration Officers to sign this form and stamp it.

Last year I was advised to get a lawyer to do it and it cost me 3500bt! a lot out of a monthly state pension which has not gone up for 14 years.

It shouldn't cost more than a postage stamp to UK. A letter signed by you, but you mention a form have you needed to prove that you are alive?

Edit: posts crossed, glad to see that sanity has prevailed.

DWP changed the rules a couple of years ago enabling just about anyone to sign the form providing they could be traced in some way. After yesterdays announcement by George Osborne I have no idea what the new system will entail....yet!

OP should keep an eye on the pinned topic at the top of the page.
