islands and their "main" present nationality

Featured Replies

let´s try to figure out, which islands are preferred visited by which nationality.

of course this is difficult to estimate, because who has the numbers of all visitors of an island and the nationality with the highest percentage of all those visitors.

but there seems to be a tendency in some places.

i don´t know if im right, but i will start like this.

Pattaya - Russia

Ko samet - Thais (on the weekend)

Haad Rin - Israel

Ko Lanta - Sweden (especially on long beach)

Ko Phayam - Germany

what about ko samui, ko chang, phuket and so on? any ideas?

thx in advance for support.

if this "has been done to death", just ignore it and it will disappear soon...

of course they are not islands, but there´s no need to be pedantic.

that´s not the idea of the thread.

Islands...like it says in the headline....and whom goes where.

Pattaya should be an island and towed away.

The topic title should be: "Places in Thailand; and which nationality is over-represented there, causing me to avoid it."

the idea is to find, collect and discuss places in thailand, where one nationality is over-represent.

so i can assume so far, that my first suggestions are not completely wrong. otherwise i would get comments on that either...

You have a problem with Swedes ? Seriously ?

Pointless thread, dude.

Stay out of Kuta - Dandenong-by-the-sea .....

I actually like the fact that Patong and Kuta get the yobs - keeps them away from Penang.

OK, sustento, but I'm reliably informed that Air Asia dont allow broadswords and shields on their flights .... ;)

Why don't you search TAT. They have all these figures available, well for arrivals on the islands anyway.

Don't go to Ratchaburi - full of Thais... :)

See them little blots of land floating in the ocean there off Pattaya, them would be ISLANDS!

Glad you liked it.

Too many of any one kind in a foreign country inevitably become obnoxious.

There was a topic on the forum last year, "How will you celebrate Australia Day?" One of the answers, "By avoiding the places that Australians congregate" summed it up.

No, its only 1, the other one left because it was over represented

A group of islands just off the coast of Thailand (maybe stretching it a little)

The UK.

Soon to be overrun with Romanians.

Just to add to every other known nationality.

I like the island oasis in Bangkok - it's called the British Club.

He's already ruled out Samet for that very reason - last time I checked, Thai people are completely free to roam around their own country, but that could be a minority view on TV.

Koh Mak - No one! Which is why I go there lol.

Not an Island , but I like Chiang Kan.

Thought you said this a pointless thread, yet, dude, here you are! Again.

"He's already ruled out Samet for that very reason"

no, i didn´t!!! didn´t rule out any place because one nationality is over-represent. That´s just stupid.

to me, it´s a psychological or social phenomenon, that one nationality seems to be over-represented and i was wondering why this happens.

that´s all. no need to rule out anyone!
