webfact Posted December 13, 2013 Share Posted December 13, 2013 Indian Necklace Snatch by 2 Ladyboys on Pattaya BeachPATTAYA: -- A 41 year old Indian Tourist reported the theft of a Gold Necklace in the early hours of Friday on Pattaya Beach.Police and a Police Interpreter made their way to the scene, opposite Soi 10 on Pattaya Beach Road and met with Mr. Ajay Jha who was visibly shaken after the incident which began when he was approached by two Ladyboys who requested Mr. Jha join him at their room for some late-night fun. And the passport is definitely being inspected as opposed to just being looked at. But could it be something to do with the little-known method of identifying correctly the person making the complaint, who knows? In 15 years of traveling and living in Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia I've never been the victim of a crime of any kind. On the other hand, I've got friends who get clipped on just about every visit...strange. "Deserve" is perhaps a bit harsh but you can certainly expect to have it stolen at some point. I would anyway. I volunteered to do something for the BiB, a fun thing to entertain Thai folk, I am a TP volunteer, known to them for years, BUT, they demanded to photo copy my Passport to entertain the folk..... ................ I think you are right - I have only had one mugging attempt directed at me in 30 something years ( unsuccessful). I do however wear a gold chain and a real Rolex but I get left alone. For the same reason why they make you wait for hours, then make a report, then charge 20 to 100 baht for the copy and do absolutely nothing after that I still do not understand,why they do not have a desk, where you write up your own report, then let them stamp it.
