Trip To Brisbane (australia)

Featured Replies

I am planning a 14 day trip to Brisbane. And i am a little on a budget for tickets.

I found tickets around 25.000 baht roundtrip. From Singapore it started from 10.500 baht roundtrip (But these can only be sold in Singapore).

Is Bangkok when compared to Singapore expensive or am i looking in the wrong places?

I would not mind a 2 days stopover/sightseeing in Singapore.

The plan sofar is book 2 roundtrip tickets to Singapore, stay 2 days in Singapore at the start of the trip.

Buy 2 tickets to Brisbane in Singapore.

I am from the Netherlands, a tourist visa for both countries is easy.

For my wife i guess it will be more difficult.

Is it possible to get a tourist visa for Australia without a pre booked ticket?

The Australian website has very limited information.

The immigration site offers a lot of info, except for this scenario.

She would not have a Australian sponsor, or a job to return to.

But she is married with me (5 years), has multiple visas to the Netherlands. We have two children, which would be a very good reason to return i think.

Does anyone have experience applying for a tourist visa with these kind of conditions?

I suggest you read the many different threads about Australian tourist visas in the visa section.

Your wife should have no problem in obtaining a tourist visa.

As for a cheap air fare, you need to Google search as much as you can.

I did that of course.

Found nothing about getting a visa without a prebooked ticket.

And as it is weekend, no luck calling the embassy. I guess just going and go for it would be my best bet, just curious if it would be impossible to save me the trouble.

Googled for hours and found that tickets to Brisbane available in Singapore were priced around 40-50% cheaper. As Bangkok-Singapore is only about 4-5000 baht roundtrip i expected a little price difference. Not that much of a difference.

You don't need a pre-booked ticket before applying for a T/V. It is not a prerequisite.
