It doesn't have horns, so must be different spieces.

The security guard quickly took him away though... who knows what he's gonna do with it...

Same species but female, could have come with some sugarcane from the mainland.

I have been on a competition in Chiang dao.

The female is put in compartment in the fighting pole so the males have something to fight about.

Dead snake just outside the hole with baby monitor lizard, which will probably finish it off during the night.

^ hope the monitor lizard enjoys! Mole!

Just getting back to the red beetle problem and the coconut trees, it's been my observation doing a fair bit of driving around both KP and Samui, in the last few weeks, that the issue is not as bad as we thought it might be.

It seems to have affected very localized areas around both islands, but looking at most of the coconut trees, it not looking too bad !...thumbsup.gif

Amazing how little wild life on actually does not see even up in the hills!

Looking from atop Soi 5 today... not a monkey in sight! biggrin.pngtongue.png

Lots of dragon flies buzzing around these last few days...I saw a couple of really interesting coloured ones today, but did not settle down long enough to get a shot!

Auguid has more patience for that sort of stuff than me! biggrin.pngwink.png

3 of them which I suppose is one male and two females?

I noticed that the autofocus button on Jim's camera is labelled 'lock onto target' and 'capture image' is labelled 'launch'.

OT reply to OT post.

That pic may sort of be a candidate in that "funny signs" thread. But in an opposite way.

The Thai is just phonetic rendering of the English.

In other words, if a Thai wasn't able to read that English, he wouldn't probably understand whatever is written in Thai either, because it says phonetically exactly what's written in English.

Herbal Massage = [hoeboe massach]

In fact, if the English wasn't there, I'd have great difficulty deciphering <deleted> the Thai means.

I'd love me a sun bear next time anyone is sending one somewhere.

I was walking up my street back to the pad late last night and heard some rumbling noises from some bushes on the side of the road.

Suddenly, the strange creature darted out in front of me.

Now sure what it is. Could someone kindly identify it for me?

I would suggest clicking it for it's full size for better judgement..................

Samui expat incola, genus ebrius stultus.

Some of the not so deadly wildlife i encountered during my stays on Samui smile.png

Caught on a fishing trip with Mr Tu, but thais on boat, said "NO TOUCH".

No idea what it is, but it didn't look like something we wanted to touch anyway.

Also caught on fishing trip.

Seems like Thais do not eat these eels, because they threw them out again when we caught them, but here they are sold for about 1500 Bath a kilo.

Not sure if it's the same type of eel we eat here in europe.

Looks more like a hagfish than an eel to me...

You might be right.

Just thought it looked like an Eel,but after searching on hagfish i can see it looks like one.

So maybe that's why they don't eat it ;)
