Very nice offer with conce information.

Just a question. In grade 10-12, general science isn't normally taught anymore. There it's divided into chemistry, biology and physics. What does the new teacher have to teach for those grades? You can't expect the new teacher to have a degree in chemistry and a degree in biology and a degree in physics. Thanks.

I was find it very sad how Chiang Rai often has better jobs and schools than Chiang Mai.

"You can't expect the new teacher to have a degree in chemistry and a degree in biology and a degree in physics."

A degree in the subject is not a requirement for licensure. I know of many teachers that have license to teach all of those subjects.

Most teachers will have their strengths though in a particular subject. If it were IB curriculum, then the teacher would really need to know the subject in depth. IB courses are so close to University level and some even tougher.

Our students are streamed. There is a language arts stream, a math/science stream and a mathematics stream. The language arts take extra English and another language, such as Chinese/Japanese. Math has an advanced math and the science has general science classes while the science stream has Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

I am not sure how they do. Hopefully the OP will be able to shed some light on it.

I know, zeichen and that's the problem in many Thai government and private schools. I have a Master Degree in Science and a TCT Teacher License but I can't and won't teach chemistry, biology or physics to grade 10-12 students. I'm simply not good enough. My degree is in facilities management.

A TCT teacher license indeed doesn't require that teachers are educated in the subjects they're teaching. That's also why Thai teachers of English are weak in teaching English. Their English knowledge is on grade 12 or lower level. They never studied it in university. They studied education in university.

No mention of salary but I'd expect at least 40k per month for 21 classes per week. Pretty sure I saw an ad from the same school offering only 30k not long ago, a friend of mine was earning 30k when he was teaching here 15yrs ago, crazy that some schools are still paying so little!

Actually I was talking about the US. You need to have taken courses but not a degree in each field. I am certified in Art, general science, Chemistry and Social Studies.

"Partial Social Security Allowance"

What does that mean?

That the school is willing to pay their half of the deduction - like they are supposed to do?

"Possess the work permit and reside in Thailand"

This was listed under 'Qualifications', so are you saying that you expect the applicant to already have a work permit? How does that work?

"What appeal you to work in Chiangrai?"

"“In EPGS, to be gifted, you must learn from the giftedness”"

It sounds like it's probably a pretty nice job. It seems like someone there has a sense of humor.

Did 'the giftedness' write the specs for the position?
