Go to MOS-burger and you will never go back to BK

I finally tried MOS burger, but was not impressed. It is probably no worse than any other fast food burger, but that is about the best that I can say. IMO, McDonald's is a better deal for the money.

Why anyone would get upset about bad service/quality from a fast food chain beats me.

Because you pay for it...

Well, just don't buy it any more.

Any fast food outlet where the fries are not up to scratch point out the problem there and then. Always got a replacement portion when this has happened at KFC or McDs. Never been to BK in LOS.

Posters on the wall show burgers the size of a Victoria sponge, yet when they arrive they're no bigger than a poached egg!

Good. The less of the thing the better!

I had the same experience at the airport mate, i don't go there anymore.

Other BK in Thailand have very dumb personell that does everything wrong, wrong burger, wrong bill, cold fry's.

Go to MOS-burger and you will never go back to BK

In the MBK they do it well at BK but have to learn proper english.

Thanks for the advice about MOS mate. I'll give it a try next time I am in BKK.

So now the question is..what does Mos stand for and do they have outlets in Siam Paragon or Terminal 21?

English..I fully agree. Lack of basic English knowledge. I was an English teacher for 2 years. I know exactly what you are talking about.

I can speak and understand some Thai but their argument is...learn English..why..for what?

MOS stands for Mountain Ocean Sun. In Japan only McDonalds are bigger, popular in Singapore as well. There is one in the basement of Terminal 21 and also in Paragon and Central World.

Thank you smile.png

Have to agree with that statement. They seem to be getting smaller and smaller....

I guess the answer is...don't support these establishments anymore.

Yesterday i was in MOS-paragon, next to bk but it was not as good as before. Better go to MOS in Central-chidlom or Central world.

I let my wife order and even she said that the guy was arrogant. We got less of that great sauce and the tables are too small now. Also the bun was a little dry.

We always eat the normal MOS burger without cheese. My wife also likes their hotdogs a lot. They are really great but small, better order more then 1. And they are not easy to eat in that paper vowell.

Going to BKK as soon as the unrest dies down.

I certainly will give it a try.

OK, This thread prompted me to eat at BK in the US today for the first time in a long time. I ordered a Whopper Meal.

Everything was up to par. Cleanliness, service, food... The patty was obviously USDA beef and charbroiled, the bun was fresh and toasted, the lettuce, tomato and onion were 1st class and the fries were fresh and done just right. There was as much ketchup as I wanted, self serve, napkins self-serve, big variety of soft drinks self serve and going back for seconds is allowed.

Prices vary throughout the US depending on the cost of doing business and buying land in various locations. I chose a freeway interchange where I knew the price would be a little higher and it all cost me US$5.59 or 183 baht which means it isn't real cheap. There is no tipping in fast food places.

They do have much less expensive meals.

Overall it was a 1st class experience and if the food wasn't so unhealthy, I'd eat there more often.

When are the fast food chains going to understand this?

I'm not sure they can. A burger patty is loaded with beef fat by nature. The bun is high in wheat carbs. Fries are deep fried in oil, although in the US I think it's an oil low in trans fats. Still it's high in fat calories. A soda isn't good for you whether sweetened with corn sugar or "diet." They do sell non-fat milk but it's extra cost apart from the meal.

So, although not a food expert by any means, I think the meal is unhealthy by nature. I think it's up to the consumer to choose different food and eat fast food only very rarely.

Am I wrong?

You're not wrong.

It's certainly about choice. The trouble comes when we have these ridiculous persistently nomadic on-the-go lifestyles to make a living and there is no other choice. There's nowhere to stop off and get a plate full of steamed veg in a hurry. It really is a problem these days.

I'm talking about the UK here.

All the food places air side of emmigration are overpriced. I buy food at the Family Mart and take it through with me.

Same applied at all airports I've been through.

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif didn't know they had a double cheese Whopper with bacon at Family Mart. Is it still warm when you get through where ever you are going through. Do you get fries with it.clap2.gif

So far the service here in Chiang Mai has been good. what gets me is that I went into the Burger King in the airport and the service was good but they did not have the same menu. They were lacking the special Chicken sandwich of the month which I enjoy.sad.png

Thank you for your input.

For me a burger is a treat and not a set meal for every day.

So it does have fats and calorioes and sugars, but I am almost sure once in a while does no harm.

So you paid THB183 for your Whopper meal as in where I paid THB269 ($8.20) for a double Whopper...no toasted bun, no crisp lettuce, no seconds, no melted cheese...

A cold meal with soggy fries. Obviously pre prepared and not fresh.

Set meal with Coke Zero...which wasn't marked as Coke Zero and ther was some confusion because my friend and I had both ordered Coke.

I have been to the USA and every meal I have had there, be it Wendys, Dennys, BK or any other restaurant has been top class.

Why?,,,,because of the competition... and people complain about bad service which is their right as they are paying for it.

Here...mai pen rai attitude. If you don't like it, lump it.

As I haven't a BK in my town I look forward to a Whopper with cheese at the BKK airport, had one Wednesday, it was crap.....sad.png

My point exactly.....

Mine wasn't crap at the airport.

They had no stock!

Well, I always ask these places for something special....like a double whopper or double big mac. I have to eat in fresh. I sometimes skip the soda and french fries just to get a freshly cooked burger.

Not really a treat for me..... as my father used to say in the early 60's, When MacDonalds just opened,...it just taste better at home. Ten cent burgers then, and a frothy shake. I think it was actually the shake that I liked.

I get a black angus patty for 80 baht each at a Aussie outlet (bar) in Udon Near Nong Sim. It's Black Angus, and if you cook it just right, is very much better. A fat slice of Tomato, onion and gouda cheese (I call it Buddha Cheese) on a garlic/butter broiled bun and I am good for about 4 days.

You paid for crappy service and quality.

You returned and paid for it again.

Most businesses in Thailand never think about return business or future sales, only the baht they just made on that most recent sale!

By their standards, they are doing a great job.

And you are a great customer.

You came back.

Keep it up!

?????????? I buy food at Family Mart. Where the *&^%^ did I say anything about burgers, and when did burgers become essential eating?

If you want to pay for an overpriced fat and sugar laden meal by all means go to BK on air side. I'll stick with F M's sandwiches.

OMG. The BK I went into in the US had a spotless parking lot, interior, area behind the counter where the food is prepared...

Is that picture real?

I guess we are spolied in LOS where the staff tidy up after the customers. Obviously in OZ they don't.

For your information. There is an active consumer protection law in Thailand. The problem is no one really does anything unless you threaten them with that law.

I have used it against unscrupulous businesses before with excellent results.

And went back and paid for it again...two completely diferent outlets.

I did contact the holders and owners of the franchise in Thailand. I'll see what happens if they bother to reply.
