It seems there have been misconceptions about expats/foreigners who live in Thailand or have come come to Thailand. Are there any misconceptions about expats/foreigners that you think need clearify? What do you want Thai people to know about yourself?

From what I can see there is nothing to be misconceived, we are all exactly what we appear to be.

My name and address if they are giving away money!

It depends upon who the Thai person is.

I actually enjoy the benefits from Thai peoples prejudices about Farangs in general.

Here are just some examples:

1) He is rich.

Means that I benefit from better service, when I go somewhere.

2) He does not understand Thai.

Means I can secretly understand, when and what people are talking about me and play the game with them.

3) He is a sex tourist.

Means I can flirt with the sexy girls on the BTS, without people really getting offended.

and I could go on and on....

See the benefits and you have the upper hand.

Exactly I am not that insecure that I have to seek acceptance or understanding from anyone Thai or none Thai, what you see is what you get....I can never quite figure out why some farangs in Thailand constantly have to keep seeking acceptance from the locals

All I can say to these people is that it doesn't matter how much you suck up to them, Thailand will not give you PR or ability to own land in your own name, you can be the biggest apologist in the country, and Thaier than Thai, but never going to become one of them, as much as you try, even if you do get PR or even a Thai pp

So face up to it ladies

That I am not so brave so please do not attack me in "numbers" if I ever offend you.

In general I don't care what other people think about me.

But I slightly prefer if people think that I am poor "kee nok" farang, so they don't try to get money from me.

Unfortunately as more as I tell people that I don't have money as more they think that I am rich beyond imagination.....If I would have only 10 % of the money, people believe I have.....

I go to the local shop (in the sticks) to get some beer (I'm not a big drinker ) all I get of them is ' u want beer agin u dink lot' my thoughts are 'f' off you'r not paying for it.

i have some trouble pronouncing "th" so when i say "free", i might actually mean "three", and when i say "fat" i might actually mean "that"... so they should seek further confirmation in any such ambiguous instances to avoid misunderstanding...

Work wise, I would like them to think I am here to help, but not arrogant to the extent that I am always right. Criticism has to be earned....

Socially, that I am here to enjoy myself with the company I am in, but not arrogant enough to comment on others actions because they are different to what is expected in my home country.
