January 8, 201412 yr Popular Post Now looking at these normally makes me feel quite ill. Such physical effects of looking at HDR photos have been reported by others and I find the stronger the HDR effect the more I want to throw up. Dunno why? But thought might as well have a go using the UWA Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5 - 5.6 at 8mm on APS-C. Couldn't be bothered to go anywhere, so did an HDR of my office, post-processed in CS6 via Lightroom 5.3. I've tried to minimise that HDR look as much as possible by randomly pulling sliders about as is my usual iterative almost monte carlo simulation technique in getting confused. Still makes me feel poorly though.

January 9, 201412 yr I really like that wooden table in the top pic. I make these things as a hobby & am soon to head out into the forest in search of "old wood". Once cut to size each slab gets sanded super smooth then either oiled or varnished. if varnished 100 coats is the minimum I apply with a hand sanding between each coat. Don't like polyurethane coatings....too "plastic" for me. Great shots MJP...kinda like a magic mushroom ride...hah!

May 15, 201412 yr TBH I think you did a good job on that 1st shot. I've just read an article (thanks to whoever posted the blog on another thread) that you will find interesting, that is if you haven't already read it. http://blog.mingthein.com/2014/04/14/hdr-zone-system-dynamic-range/#more-8139
May 15, 201412 yr Author This was a puke test. I wanted to see how many of my tog friends down here in the tog forum threw up on exposure to these hideous images. Seems it was just me. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
May 15, 201412 yr I'm lucky I don't get the nausea from HDR, one of my favourite techniques. Thanks for the pictures.

May 16, 201412 yr I like this one MJP, may I ask about the lighting? Is tgis fixed or did you install or is it accentuated by HDR? I can see a shadow so presume there was a natural source?
May 16, 201412 yr Author I like this one MJP, may I ask about the lighting? Is tgis fixed or did you install or is it accentuated by HDR? I can see a shadow so presume there was a natural source? There was light, you might be able to make out shadow on the corridor floor. Post processing was the randomized iterative method. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

May 17, 201412 yr Author ^^^ Outta likes MJP... I didn't take that pic of the insect fly critter thing by the way, just used it as an example. I guess the tog did multiple exposures long multiple focus points which can only lead me to understand that's an awful lot of photos and the fly must have been dead.
June 23, 201412 yr Author Shag, HDR is your thing. You mange to use HDR to produce a natural image. Rare talent.
June 23, 201412 yr Shag, HDR is your thing. You mange to use HDR to produce a natural image. Rare talent. Thanks fella,I really do appreciate your kind feedback. HDR is something that I like to play around with,a bit of a struggle sometimes trying to make something from the images out of my old P&S camera. In the next couple of days my new camera should arrive and I am excited to get my hands on it. I finally decided on a Alpha a6000 (stop sniggering ) with standard 16-50mm and 55-210mm.
