And please wash your hands before eating, brush your teeth before bed and don't tease your brothers.

Dek uuuuuuay dek dee, ja mee .....

This is like listening to the head master lecturing his a students.

Maybe the bloody doctors really should stay out of politics and go back to work.

Did the US Constitution not have 5 physician signateurs?

Ron Paul doesn't seem too shoddy.

"he should not be using abusive language against other people as it damages the image of other physicians."

IMO the main problem is society being adrift in a "sea of image" rather than "substance" as a focus.

A few expletives and insults here and there are far preferable to the red rabble being incited to kill people and burn buildings down. At least the only thing insults hurt will be people's feelings....

"A few expletives and insults here and there"

I wonder how you would feel if the filth was said about your wife, daughter??? c'mon now tell us sticks n stones,,,

But no surprise you come up with this comment.

Get senior medics (or academics for that matter) onto the subject of their rivals and competitors and the vitriol often flows freely. Some of the bitchiest people around IMO (not quite up to the media 'profession' but not far off). A worldwide phenomenon I think - transposed for political use in Thailand.

This was beyond disgusting what he said. and that all his colleagues laughed at his jokes should set alarm bells ringing. What do these old creeps get up to when they have anaethetises women under their control.

Way beyond disgusting it talked of her naked dead body. Post birth vaginal surgery to make her husband happy, she should not leave it too late to become a nude model and advised her to resign and start down this path before her periods finished. And he topped it off with him being her sanitary towel servant.

If this pile of filth are not sacked instantly will hold them and their ilk to more crisisim down the line. This really is all over the internet now. Beyond vile if anybody wants to defend them. But it went down well with the educated assembly. Who's too stupid to vote?

If they want to stand for election in their own time, I hear there is a vote coming in a few weeks.

Well...I am sure not known to be a friend of h90 and his views...but maybe...just maybe...because these were "death penalties" that were executed mostly without a trial?!

cheesy.gif Thais really do live in a galaxy far, far away. In a country where real human rights abuses are all too common, I will throw in Tak Bai and Mr. T's war on drugs as examples, yet the NHRC has to tell protesters not to insult those they oppose. Words fail,

If I insult someone but end the insult with Krap will that make it acceptable ?

yes right!!!!! These bad professors using bad words only because people don't get proper medical care because all the money is used by government corruption.....They are sooooo evil.

Killing 3000 people (half didn't had any connections to narcotics)...never mind, everyone can make small mistakes like that.....

No, but some of them come from the same culture of arrogance and privilege as Mr Abhisit. They need to learn to be less patronizing to those whose labour pays their wages

You know "trials" don't you?

That stuff where a lawyer is representing the accused...sometimes even proving the accusations to be "false" or "falsified'...like in...let's say ...civilized countries....

Held and killed without trials. False and falsified evidence...Sounds awfully familiar, just different scale.

I often have to do a face palm when I hear a lot of what passes for political discourse in Thailand.

I don't know if it's cultural adolescence, the soap operas or what. Both sides have these hysterical, rabid people who enjoy whipping themselves into a frenzy with the most outlandish claims and insults you can imagine. It's like they're getting high on manufactured sensationalist drama, the crazier the better. They like it even better when there's a whole group of them so that they can try outdo each other. It's like gossip on steroids + yaba but far more bizarre.

I can't help but think "where the hell are they getting this from?" some of that stuff is so high-octane that you just know that they've been working up to it.

Any of you who are actually fluent in Thai will know what I'm talking about. It's truly surreal to witness.

Fox News script writers and talking heads are rank amateurs compared to these people.

I hear the same too.

I think seriously that some of it may be deep seated cultural change in the air. For Centuries, Thais have had obedience taught (beaten) if necessary into them and have never had much of a voice.

As this has evolved from 2006 coup, people have started to speak out and are emboldened. It's as if they are seeking where the boudaries now lay, as we do in adolecence. We push and push until we are come to some line in the sand which we are stopped - usually by the law - from crossing.

Here, the leaders are promising no reprisals and court cases, so there are no limits and the population have not matured enough to reign themselves in and set boundaries where free speech crossed into insult or unacceptable behaviour. At this time, they are told from the stage that they cannot be arrested, that the courts and army will protect them, that the Police will be abolished or brought under their control.

What is very worrying it that this behaviour should come from a professor who won a major award last year. Wonder if they will take it off him after this!! One can only hope so

Only an opinion, but many of us do wonder how Thais, who are usually the most polite people even in arguments, can resort to this behaviour.

Also not sure why H90 keeps trying to bring up the death penelty law many Asian countries have the same policy, if you get caught trafficing hard core drugs its the death penelty. I remember when Abhisit was in charge he was asked if he would continue with the policy and his reply was, while there has been a very small percentage of calateral damage (questioanable whether they where guilty or not) he thought it was a good policy.

While I do think the policy is quite harsh, it is what it is and many countries have the same policy and much lower drug related crime!

Not only that, but the 'War on drugs' was originally proposed by a very high-up person and was subsequently praised by this same high person. Yet in recent months I have noticed several people using these so-called extra judicial killings as a stick to beat the Shinewatras. You wonder why didn't they speak up at the time? You also wonder if anyone really cares (apart from in a positive way) that a few hundred anti-social drug dealers got killed? Of course people say they do care, and say "isn't it awful", but that is just window dressing. The fact is that Thaksin did what many people wanted to be done, and that some influential people had actually been advocating.

Agree with you. This society is cracking open.

It's interesting that Thais are starting to have the courage to criticise the old guard for their stupid decisions, and to point out that most of the street-level supporters of the insurrectionist Suthep are southerners.

This blog is particularly courageous:

http://uglytruththailand.wordpress.com/category/thai-politics/

I don't think this blog or others have yet started to tackle the issue of reactionary farangs on forums like this. I guess they figure that farangs' opinions don't really matter, no matter how backward-looking - and they'd be right!

That jerks name is Doctor Prasert Vasinanukorn, from Songkla.

"“Please pay attention; if the Prime Minister is expecting a baby, I would pick her up in an ox-cart to give birth at Had Yai. I will have an extra service for you by doing virginal repair surgery. I can guarantee that your new husband will feel on top of the world”."

The yellow shirt leaders have reached a new ugly low.

Indeed. I read this transcript and if it is accurate he is an absolute disgrace. And that is probably a very generous description.

I disagree.

1. The paymaster didn't have his arms twisted to supervise / strongly encourage the police to assassinate people with no questions asked before shooting and no due process (no due process whatever).

2. No 'democracy' would allow a situation whereby the police can assassinate people with no investigation whatever, and no 'democracy' would allow their 'leader' to take it upon himself / herself to make public statements (directed at the police) that they can go right ahead and shoot and there will be no investigation. The truth is of course that the paymaster had already established himself into a scenario where nobody dared to challenge him (the word dictator comes to mind - not really the point here but this is the man who has claimed many times that 'democracy is not important for Thailand / democracy is not my goal').

3. The notion that the public were happy with this action is not really true. Sure there would be families who had problems (drug addicts within their families) who would have been happy to see some sort of action to try to reduce / stop drug problems. But there's another angle; during this activity I asked many Thais if they would be happy if one of their family (a totally innocent person) was just gunned down on site, somehow in the wrong spot at the wrong time). The answer always a clear and strong NO. And I ask the same question now to the poster on this thread, Would you say 'never mind' 'it's all OK' if one of your loved ones was shot down and killed in such an activity?

4. At the time this all happened there was plenty of discussion that the paymaster acted mostly because of a 'problem' within own family.

5. Approx. 2,500 Thais assassinated including women and children. But not one drug kingpin touched or arrested.

Even for ordinary people, it is also not good to hear people saying bad words to others.

Throw the blame to freedom of expression.

It was basically open season for police all over the country to shoot and kill whoever they wanted for any reason whatsoever, knowing full well that they could chalk it down to the 'war on drugs' and there wouldn't be a whisper of an investigation, let alone a court case.

Just think about that for a moment.

Were people who had nothing to do with the drug trade in any way shape or form killed in large numbers? I don't think you need to have been in Thailand at the time, as I was, to work out the correct answer to that question.

So how does that connect to the topic.

Coming from wealth is not necessarily a crime and you might like to remember that some 308 greedy members of the 'get real rich real quick club' have 'get wealthy' as their entire purpose in occasionally attending parliament and contributing nothing to the development of Thailand.

Abhisit patronizing - well do some research and you'll find he's made many speeches / mentioned things during recorded discussions which show him (also his sidekick Khun Korn) to be small s socialists who wanted to make changes to achieve much more sharing of the wealth.

Then there's the opposite argument - the paymaster showed many times his arrogance and his dictator / rule by fear approach.

As doctors they could be a little more 'medical' in their rhetoric. Be more creative. They have license to use terms like, penile dysfunction, diarrhea, sphincter, vaginal excretion, chlamydia, venereal disease, halitosis, etc. Pretend they're giving a medical exam to the government and their officers.

Unfortunately, the likes Korn and Abhisit from any political party are going to be under the shadows of great lurching dinosaurs like Suthep and Thaksin for quite some time.

you can agree or disagree on politics, you can like or dislike Yingluck, fine! But holy shit... the things some "doctors" have been saying really made me wanna puke. What a disgrace to the human race. I would wish for this trash to get their license revoked.
