Samsung Nexus 10

I can't figure out the Google/Asus/Samsung thing. Does it matter?

Google markets it, Asus and or Samsung manufacturers it.

Possibly made by Asus first, Samsung later.

Asus make the 7" Samsung the 10". Both made to be marketed originally by Google under the Nexus brand.

What is the availability of these devices now?

I imagine the shopat7 offer may be well sold out by now?

Any good locations for me to get but the 10" version?

Thanks,

NL

The shop at 7 still has them, but less than 200 left as of yesterday

JIB Computer also still have a few left

They are the only 2 places that have them

Thanks for checking.

I will be passing back through Schiphol next week and they have a special on Denver brand android tablets with the 7" one around 3500 baht and the 10" version at 5000 baht. Looks like I have choices.

I bought one 6 weeks ago.....nice unit.

On boot up I am getting irritating flashing lights on the bottom of the screen.

After days of pressing Google Support for an explanation they finally admitted it is not normal and for any repairs I would have to contact the manufacture.

I was actually considering buying a second one........

See how much satisfaction I get when I go to Samsung Service tomorrow......

Will keep you posted...

My Nexus 10 was a novelty at the Phuket Samsung Service Centre today as they had not seen one before......

So I was surprised when they told me they would fix it themselves and not send it to Bangkok.

They will contact me in a week when it is repaired and ready to be picked up.

I was spoiled with Acer last year when I had a failed laptop screen...they flew a replacement screen from Bangkok and it was ready to pick up the same day.

Almost two weeks now and the prognosis doesn't look good.

They replaced the LCD this week and this hasn't fixed the problem.

The technician is waiting on advice from Bangkok about how to proceed.

If I had have been quicker off the mark I might have been able to get a new one under the 7 day replacement warranty but how would you do this online.

Just curious these are not copies but maybe refurbished? and possibly a samsung warranty?

My sticker said my unit was made on October 19,2013 and it does come with a 1 year warranty.

Ok just went to 7/11 and paid 7700 baht which seems to be a bargain price if its original and working...

Just got my nexus 10 this morning and so far no issues. I know this is a excellent tablet and i am surprised to see it here at this price level (cheaper then the usa). It is equal to my ipad 3 lets see if i have issues or these are refurbished...

  • 1 month later...

Thanks to the information from Seedy (OP) I bought the Nexus 10 late January. After using it a few weeks my wife ordered one for herself. We are very happy with these tablets and have had no problems so far even if both are used a lot. I upgraded mine to the newest android version which works well - except that Truevision Anywhere is not of a good quality. My wife decided to keep Jellybean in which Truevision Anywhere works well. Both were bought from 7Eleven at thb 7700 using their 200 baht discount.

A lot of people, on Thai social media, are complaining about the quality on these units. It seems like they were dumped here, from who knows where, some speculate factory refurbs, or units out of spec that were supposed to be scrapped.

I was looking at getting one during my visit to the U.S. a few weeks ago - there are a fair amount on eBay for $400 (16 GB) - but I decided to wait.

That said, this unit has been sold out on the U.S. Play Store for months, and there is no real news on a replacement? Maybe something announced at MWC in Feb.?

I bought three from JIB and couldn't be happier. No problems at all.

Would happily buy more if I had an application for them.

EDIT: Bought 4 if you count the one I gave to a friend!

Bought an external powered USB as could not get memory sticks to play by themselves via OTG cable alone.

Now they play just fine but ...

Anyone know why my Seagate portable HDD will not connect to the tablet ??

Thanks

So far, mine work with all the memory sticks I've thrown at it.

If you have a problem, might be a good idea to contact the writers of Nexus Media Importer.
