Hi all I have a thia textbook but it damaged by water on some pages and there are a couple of things I can't read. I was wondering if someone could help.

What is erratic in Thai?

Dictionary shows mai nae, mai nawn but I don't think this is correct because the sentence refers to driving habits.

Also I can't read the translation of:

'In the Buddhist religion bad things in life are replaced by good things.'

I can see that bad is being translated as (lai) (evil) but not much else. Would anyone know how to translate this sentence?

Thanks

ไม่แน่ไม่นอน
maiF naaeF maiF naawnM
pronunciation guide
Phonemic Thai ไม่-แน่-ไม่-นอน
Royal Thai General System mai nae mai non
[adjective]
definition
[is] erratic; inconsistent; unpredictable
components ไม่ maiF not; no
แน่ naaeF sure; certain; truthful; firm; stable; without doubt; exact
ไม่ maiF not; no
นอน naawnM to sleep; lie down

I seem to remember the 'nawn' part as being described as a 'euphonious suffix' rather than the 'sleep' definition given.

erratic driving ....

maybe:

ขับรถมั่ว

(in case of intentional erratic driving)

or possibly:

ขับรถไม่มั่น(ใจ) (in case of lack of experience/confidence)

ขับรถไม่ดี
