I'm sure this has been a topic before and I've searched tv thoroughly and haven't found it.

Can someone kindly direct me to where I can find a sample, company letter requesting a non-B visa for the purpose of obtaining a work permit and working.

Also: I hope someone can clear this up;

I was told by the labor department that after I receive the work permit (valid only as long as my present visa) I can go to Penang or any Thai consulate outside Thailand and receive a non-immigrant-B visa; then take that new visa with only a single entry to Thai Immigration along with work permit and receive a one-year visa. Then return to the labor department where they will extend the work permit for up to one year or the expiration date of the visa obtained from Thai Immigration.... ...Is this right? Has anyone had this experience? Thanks a bunch for any help on this....

If I'm informed correctly, local (asian) Thai embassy's will not issue a non-immigrant visa based on only the Company letter.

It's my understanding that the workpermit has to be applied for first, and when the applicant and the employer are acceptable to the Labour Department a WP3 form will be issued which will be required by the local embassies to issue you with a non immigrant b visa...

No such hassle as far as I'm aware if you apply for the visa in your homecountry though...

Actually I was looking for a more substantial/official form that I could fill out and print, .pdf format (acrobat).

More substantial, you say? What, exactly, do you find missing?

An official form, you seek? Who said anything about an official form? This has to be an individual letter, from an individual company, about an individual prospective employee, with an individual job function.

A PDF form, where to fill in the blanks, you desire? You are not shy in asking, are you? Too lazy to type, are we? Ever heard of “copy and paste”, or would even that require too much exertion on your part?

I'm leaving early in the morning for my visa run and in my haste I neglected to say that the 'substantial/official form I was looking for was a visa application in pdf format and I did find one.

But I do appreciate your warm and sensitive post....keep up the good work..

Well excuse me there Mr. perfect, did you not read my entire post and subsequent follow-up? or are you one of those human examples of perfection never making a mistake.....I was told by another tv member that you were the resident expert on visa's, work permits, etc, but you did not care to respond to the rest of the post. Had a bad night?

Thank You Monty for your 'positive reply and information'.

Nor to me, it didn’t. I have the impression that the original poster is incapable of understanding that which he, himself, wrote. But he is polite to a fault, isn’t he? With that kind of attitude he will go far in life.

If the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate to which you are applying has a website, then you can probably download the visa application form from there.
That’s a good link, Vinny, useful for anyone looking for a Thai consulate.

I am afraid, however, that you may get chastised by the original poster for the link’s utter uselessness to him. No doubt, he expected you to use your crystal ball and divine what consulate he plans to go to, then find a link to that consulate’s visa application form, in PDF format with blanks to fill in, and post it here. After all, he’s already thanked you a bunch in advance for this service, and you did not deliver :o

In need of what? bashing? Your negativity will indeed take you far...isn't it time for you to go and kick a cat or two?

Now, that’s too much! You are advocating cruelty to animals. I won’t stand for that.

Plonk!

...I shall let others be the judges as to who has been bashing whom.

Have a nice trip to the consulate tomorrow, and good luck with your application!
