mogandave
Drama Wise: There Will Be Blood Thriller Wise: No Country for Old Me Comedy Wise: Tropic Thunder I have found movies I used to consider 'classics' from 60's-90's actually seem lame these days. Airplane is still pretty funny. Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Ulysses G.
and as first Runner Up, a sadly underrated and ignored movie, previously mentioned... Empire of the Sun Indeed a great film. Spielberg's best and, yes, underrated. A great book too.

Sigurris
Its not my favourite movie but it had the most profound affect on my life. Venus: Peter O'Toole (RIP) plays an actor getting old in London. I saw it at 46 and thought, "thats me in 20 years".. The next morning I gave in my notice, put my flat on the market and 6 months later I was living in Thailand. 7 years on I have no regrets. Best movie? Take your pick from: Apocalypse Now (best war film) The Big Lebowski or Withnail and I (Best Comedy) The Godfather (best crime) The Wolf of Wall Street (Best in the last 12 months) Blade Runner (Best Sci Fi) The Third Man (Best 40's film) Its a Wonderful Life (Best Xmas Film). Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand I wasn't the one who asked the question, but I noticed that he wrote it in the singular. Part of the challenge and fun is choosing one, and it's interesting to see what people say. It's also interesting when someone asks for your Top 5 or 10 or whatever, which anyone is welcome to ask here.
