DerekMarshall Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi There, Anyone got some travel information on what to do and see in Sukonthai, ancient temples, palaces and other attractions worth seeing, appreciated also any information about where to stay 400-600 bahts per night not too far from where the attractions are. Appreciated any bus time table information from Lopburi to Sukonthai. Thanks in advance.
uptheos Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Sukothai Historical Park is well worth going to, though try and do it early morning before the groups arrive, if you want to get good pictures. http://www.thaiwave.com/sukhothai/ Whilst you are in that general area try to get to Sri Sachanalai too, which I think has a nice natural feel about it.....http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Asia/Thailand/Northern_Thailand/Si_Satchanalai-1444606/Things_To_Do-Si_Satchanalai-TG-C-1.html Both wonderful places. 1
Spaniel Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 My wife and I stayed at this place a couple of times but it is in the city and not the park although it is pretty easy to get to the park from the city. Check out their website for details. If you decide to stay there be sure to eat there too as they have excellent Thai food. At home Guest House, www.athomesukhothai.com
dddave Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 The best way to see old Sukothai is by bicycle. There are well maintained bicycle paths throughout the complex and there a dozens of bicycle rental shops in the area. I seem to remember it was B50 a day but that may be up now. Be sure to take any bike you may rent for a short loop and make sure the brakes work. 1
