SATTAHIP:--Early on Wednesday Morning the Sattahip Navy Narcotics Unit conducted an operation at a Temple in the Na-Jomtien area which led to the arrest of a Monk who was removed from the monkhood by the Temple’s Chief Abbot, prior to his arrest.

The Operation began with the arrest of an illegal immigrant who was known to be residing at the Temple. He was drug tested and subsequently failed the test. He revealed that he purchased drugs from a Monk at the Temple.

An undercover operation using marked bank notes was organized whereby the foreign man purchased 3 Yabba Tablets from the Monk, later named as Khun Mongkol aged 32, who was ordained 4 years ago. Officers moved in and found the marked notes in the possession of the monk who was taken to see the Chief Abbot. The suspect was immediately removed from the monkhood.
