January 24, 201412 yr ... "and calming ones mind by doing religious practices." From the frying pan, into the fire. Indeed, religion and politics. As said, the Public Health Minister didn't invest much thought in his new claimed malady. Agreed finally something most of us can agree about and laugh about!
January 24, 201412 yr And alcohol too! It comes together....who can watch this politics sober? I wonder if Chalerm would claim it was politics that drove him to ear medicine ?
January 24, 201412 yr Newspapers and journalists also have to bear some responsibility. The Nation for instance, a blatantly anti-thaksin newspaper, is pumping out the propaganda (and probably generating good sales due to the gullibility of its target market). I believe they should show a bit more social and journalistic responsibility instead of fanning the flames. I disagree: IMO the Nation is blatantly anti-authoritarian and thereby only anti-Thaksin by default. Moreover, the record shows that the Nation remains consistent and resolute in its views, whereas the Bangkok turns all meek and mild when the business community starts to whine about political unrest and starts to heavily editorialize. Finally, doesn't Thaksin own a large chunk of Matichon, what was generally considered to be the best of the Thai language dailies - at least until Thaksin's purchase?
January 24, 201412 yr Pretty good advice from the Ministry, methinks. Otherwise some Thais might run the risk of becoming as delirious as many of the posters on this forum.
January 24, 201412 yr Well of course, keep them uninformed, in the dark and under the government's thumb!
January 24, 201412 yr If politicians are at risk could this be being queued up as the next (quite literally) get out of jail free card? "I didn't know it was stealing, I was suffering from PPS/PSS.... khaaaaaaaaa "
January 24, 201412 yr The Public Health Ministry also pointed out ways to relieve stress such as turning ones attention to something unrelated to politics, talking to like-minded people, exercising, relaxing oneself, and calming ones mind by doing religious practices. Like-minded people will have the same interests, politics. Exercising? Perhaps the minister means with your neighbour's wife? Then running like hell when the husband unexpectedly returns home. Relaxing oneself? A self hand job and/or smoke some weed. Religious practices? Begging, blessing homes and businesses for money, driving one's new Mercedes, shopping in Central, watching porn videos etc.
January 24, 201412 yr political stress syndrome?? Is that even a thing? You can't make that shit up, can you?
January 24, 201412 yr Do not think. Do not learn. Do not observe. Do not try to understand. Obey. Obey. Obey. CAPO under chalerm ( yes I know capo didn't issue this so called public health warning but they are behind it).
January 24, 201412 yr I think this is the funniest article I've ever read. " According to the ministry, there are 5 groups at risk of the syndrome, which include politicians, supporters, followers, political news consumers, and those with mental disorders. " Finally, the connecting link we've all been looking for !
January 24, 201412 yr Pity the Thais can't watch Channel News Asia (as it is in English language) - seems to be the only foreign media source covering the conflict with any journalistic skill and on substantially more than a soundbite basis. Their current one hour analysis documentary showing today is about as good as you could expect from a foreign news (Singapore) media. I highly recommend this channel (CTH and maybe other providers). Well there are already 4 or more channels in Thailand who cover it 24/7.

January 24, 201412 yr You really couldn't make this garbage up if you tried! Well, the Minister for "Health" has succeeded, and he didn't even need to try because he actually believes it's true.
January 24, 201412 yr Its press releases/news like this that keeps some peoples intrest in Thi politics alive. This country is being entertained by a group that are quickly replacing the 'funny papers' as starting your day feeling good about yourself, as you know as the day progresses you will accomplish so much more than this group. What is the real frieghtening part is knowning they have reproduced and there are at least twice the number being groomed as replacements.
January 24, 201412 yr Good advice, don't consume and stay ignorant..... Follow the sheep in front of the herd...
January 24, 201412 yr If it's like the primary US media outlets, it's virtually useless if looking for objective journalism.
January 24, 201412 yr I agree it's best not to take Thai politics too seriously. The politicians don't so why should we?
January 24, 201412 yr Political Stress Symptom, just Googled it ,no such thing. The Thai Min of Health has just invented a new illness, now we will all get it ! Regards Worgeordie
January 24, 201412 yr Help available to the likes of nowhere man Come on now fair go, everyONE is entitled to their opinion without picking out certain members. Let's all try to be adults here. Good advice from the HD though and maybe some of us could even benefit lol...Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE 8.2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
January 24, 201412 yr Do exactly the opposite. Thai's need to pressure whomever is up for election to provide policies so they can make an informed choice about who to vote in power. Right now the country is in a mess and every Thai should take more then a passing interest for the good of their country and the future. Everyone knows to try and not get in a mess about these things,. This is just a silly thing to say running up to an election when the current parliament has been dissolved,, ridiculous,,
January 24, 201412 yr Yep .. Keep them dumbed down!! Maintain the control!Remember to only read the governments own newspaper!!51o1Y3JArUL.jpg The NATION?Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE 8.2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
January 24, 201412 yr Surely political stress syndrome would be PSS and not PPS. Google the term and the top results are all Thai, so must be an elite delusional disorder (EDD) to stop the sheeple from bleating too loudly. Actually it should be "Politically induced stress syndrome", which is PISS.
January 24, 201412 yr I don't think we ever have to worry about Thais thinking too much. That's a bit nasty... My wife thinks about me all day and I'm not narcissistic one bit lol.Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE 8.2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
