Can someone find me a Hotel here near Suvarnabhumi w/ decent Internet @500-600B daily?

Featured Replies

I'm cruising from hotel to hotel here in this district near Suvarnabhumi airport, and it seems the ISP's for these hotel's are simply atrocious. It's critical that i at least HAVE a connection, however i'm getting connections like 50kps dwn (current hotel). Could someone please post any hotel's they've stayed at in this area that were decent dwellings w/ decent internet?

--

Currently, I'm at a hotel that offers a 18-ish m2 room, 32'' flatscreen, private bathroom, queen size bed, all for 500B (600 discounted dwn for me paying monthly), and the staff orders fast food for me (they jsut call it in, a fun, major plus, but i can manage) so what i'm weighing out here is that when i transfer hotels, and pay 100B more a day, that doesn't garner the proper returns (too expensive), unless the internet is insaine, alal Japan w/ 10 true MBs down. Then, yes my mouth will water a little, i'd consider it.

The last of the big spenders THB 600/n and making demands LOL

500 baht... living large I see...

Even in very expensive hotels, shared internet is usually very poor quality except when no one else is using it.

If you're here for a while, find a neighbor within 100m line of sight of your window and get a high-speed landline installed with a good password. If not try wardriving for open routers?

Otherwise head for the internet shops, or maybe a nearby coffeeshop will give you the password.

There was a guy on Reddit trying to get people to help him compile a hotels-with-good-Internet database, might want to search for that.

But for sure it'll be more money and probably not as nice otherwise.

Man, just answer the question. It's replies like these that make me question why i ever donated to this forum to begin with. I asked for listings, not: "oooooo, you big spenda" remarks. Anyways, just as with all my inquieries on this forum, that begin w/ high hopes, and end with wrong answers and me just doing it myself (visa hoping, accomodations, temples, etc.) i'm seriously considering combing through the ToS for this forum, and negotiateing a refund for my donations (plural). Furthermore, your remarks, and stupid as they are, should be: "holy shit, you're spending how much? you can get a full fledged apt in that area for 3,500B/monthly, not the 5x markup you're spending for your hotel). So, in other words, I AM a big spender, 500B in a 3rd world country? wild dog meat at the market? o.O you bet i'm a big spender. :D

can't BELIEVE how fast google updates TV!!

went looking for that database and my own post came up top of the list, less than a minute later!!

Brilliant, thanks.

never heard of donating to TV

just ignore unhelpful posts or you'll drive yourself nuts here

if the thread stays enough long enough MAYBE someone with the information you're seeking will reply, but very unlikely if you're being a dick

you are asking a lot IMO

Would you be so kind as to re-read my original post and reply back as to how this doesn't meet your criteria? Then feel free to read all my past posts and copy paste all the idiots that f*cked the threads up with comments contextually analageous to "yo so big spenda! you so big dick i so stupid, you must like sucky sucky from me! why? because i waste everyone time with st00pid reply to vital issues pertantent to everyone reading this thread and expose myself as an idiot, that's why!"

RAZZ

OP...keep it coming...could become very interesting...ie...laughable...

Several posts deleted, perhaps many more should.

Moving to travel.

What did you donate? Very curious as in 7 years I never heard of donations to TVF. Good luck with your hunt for decent internet. Hotel internet is my pet hate, should be good and free in all hotels IMHO.

Let us know how you get on, cheers.

A little more than your budget is Thong Ta. When booked through Agoda single occupancy is 735 Baht per night and includes round trip shuttle to and from airport. I've stayed here at least 15 times over past 5-years. In the past the rooms not ground floor had connectivity issues. The most recent time I stayed I stayed the internet was greatly improved. There were connections available for every floor. Small sample size, but I watched full slate of NFL games toggling back and forth and keeping it open on both my phone and laptop via NFL.com Game Pass live steams during layover using that internet connection without problem.

Just get an aircard from AIS

At any rate, the replies saying that he was asking for too much for spending too little were totally justified. You're lucky to even get wifi spending 5-600 a night. I stay at a four star hotel for 2,200 a night and the wifi often sucks. Welcome to Thailand.
