Err, my two pennies worth: I opened an account up with KBank last January. One requirement is definitely "Government-issued identification documents from the contry (sic) of nationality, such as a national ID card, driver's license, and household registration." There is a ✔️ box for the service clerk to acknowledge. Although I told her that I do not possess a home country address, she passed me the tablet and asked me to fill in a home address! I used my deceased parents address with no proof and she ticked the box. This week I opened a SCB EZ e-account which also requires a home address. Same questions, same answers and same result! I am under the impression that being a long-term resident of Thailand (13 years) and in the possession of a 'yellow book & I.D. Card' oils the cogs, especially in branches away from touristy areas. I have never had a problem with BBL in 13 years. BBL for Fixed Deposit Acct (Immigration) BBL for debit card (minimal use) KBank for debit card daily use (I prefer their Banking App over others) SCB EZ for a rainy day savings All are instant access. I transfer money into BBL & KBank using Wise with minimal fuss and no issues. If it takes an extra day or so, now and then, so what? JMHO, I believe many people that have banking issues over-complicate things, after all, TIT! ☺️ Those that use agents for making life simple by doing the donkey work I can understand. Those that use agents for by-passing the financials are fraudsters, pure and simple, up to them.
