My Thai gf is the most stubborn person I ever met to the point of just plain ignorant. I love her so unlucky me. Not only that she is always convinced she is correct even on things that turn out not in her favor for obvious reasons (those are quickly forgotten or never mentioned again).

No not at all. I don't wish to be rude or inflammatory but has your partner had much education? That is often the root cause of ignorance in my opinion.

My gal's oldest sister is like that. And she will insist she is right...even if she knows she is wrong. One of her tactics is to talk loud and fast and then change the subject or walk away before you can correct her. It really is hilarious, but to her, she is saving face.

You're the man, wear the pants in the relationship because her mum was probably was the boss of the family so she's following suit.

You've probably let her get away with murder, so be tack-full about the way you handle things.

I think the same thing happened to me and it probably happens to a lot of guys with head strong girls, to avoid the fuss, we guys let them run the show because they want to be boss all the time. In the end, some years down the track, they look at you and think, you're not the man I was attracted to at first, what am I doing here, so they move on.

Hold your ground but be tack full.

Just tell her to stop lying to herself as she knows well that she is not right when she is not right. So might as well grow up and actually take responsibility.

Yes, very common. Unfortunately means they pretty much shut themselves out of learning anything new in life, so rather than gaining X years of experience as they get older they just keep repeating their mistakes.

Not a good sign for their future.

ALL woman think they are right even when they are wrong. No you are not the only one.

I am not a young man and I would say to the OP every woman I have ever known including my

dear old mother, fits your op perfectly but what none of them will ever know is that it was me

who allowed them all to think they were always right, that has allowed me to have a nice peaceful

life and they have all thought I was a really understanding and nice person, so if you want a

peaceful life let her think she is always right, it isn't going to hurt you and the alternative will only

stress you out.

What it means is you're so in need of validation that you want her to see you being right. You will find this characteristic in every girl you meet until you learn to be more self-confident. If you are genuinely right then it doesn't matter if she admits it or not, stop depending on her judgement and she will stop judging you as wrong.

I am experiencing exactly the same thing. My gf has a university degree and middle class. So it is not really an ignorance thing. Though the level of degree in Thailand is not in par with western countries educational level and academics. The educational level of Thai university is comparable to USA high school. Actually even less at some schools. Therefore ignorance is partly true.

As opposed to other posters on this topic is that we have a personality which is very logical in nature, we need to always find logic and facts in everything, and we like to correct or amend. Furtthermore, we dispise lies and untruthfulness. Mix this up with ''Thainess'' of a Thai women and you will get arguments and fights.

Thirthly, even at the moment of her enlightentment by your correction/explanation, she would still not admit that she was wrong and/or incorrect, because.... That is losing face. well, you know Thais and the concept of ''face'' right?

You know, I've got some great lady friends who have husband who are insufferable know-it-alls. I don't understand how they can put it with them. They turn into meek little mice when they're around them. Those sweet ladies invite Hubby and I to go out for meals with their husbands but we can't stand the blowhards. I don't mind lunch with those ladies, but leave their idiot husbands at home.
