150 policemen from Khon Kaen guard polling station where Shinawatra family will vote

KHON KAEN: -- A company of policemen or 150 officers were deployed to guard the 15th polling station of Bang Plad district in the Pimolthip School.

The station is where children of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra are eligible to vote.

No protesters turned up there as of 8 am.

Not many voters turn up to vote in Chiang Mai at 8 am: Channel 5

Channel 5 reported that not many voters turned up to vote at main polling stations in Chiang Mai.

The station said when the polling stations were opened at 8 am, only the governor and a few other voters were there to vote.

Songkhla election chief announces suspension of voting in entire province

Songkhla election chief Chokchai Pholwatana announced Sunday morning that the voting in all eight constituencies in the provinces were cancelled because all polling stations have not received ballots and ballot boxes in time.

The province was supposed to hold only party-list voting because there are no constituency candidates in the province.

Somchai cannot vote as no officials man his station

BANGKOK: -- Somchai Srisuthiyakorn, a member of the Election Commission, could not cast his vote at his polling station on Phetchaburi Road because there were no officials manning the station.

Somchai arrived at the polling station at 7:47 am and waited until 8:20 am before he left. The voting was supposed to begin at 8 am.

At 9 am, the election officials put up a sign that the election at the station was cancelled.
