Torrens54 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Hi NancyL, I'll RSPV via email. Sounds like an excellent idea. See you and I trust many others on Saturday 15 Feb.
SaintLouisBlues Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I enquired of a doctor at BNH here in Bangkok about the status of Advanced Medical Directives in Thailand. He laughed and said "We ignore them. As long as you have money we will continue to keep you alive." He asserted this is general practice at most private (ie. for-profit) hospitals in Bangkok. Does anyone know anything different?

This is definitely NOT the case. With your Advance Directive you appoint a Health Care Representative and it is the responsibility of that person to see that your wishes are carried out. The AD serves as an important document to give your HCR the authority and credibility to make decisions on your behalf when you can no longer serve as your own advocate. This Feb 15 seminar was so popular that we are repeating it on July 12. I suggest you come and learn more.
