Yes, I think the irony has gone over some people's heads.

....very, very silly to do this. They were doing well , all things considered, in the international arena and now a childish, petulant, vindictive response. Doesn't help the cause one bit...

????

If you go to a foreign country, you are a guest of the government.

Protest against that government and you are a problem that needs sorting.

Before the EU it was the same there.

If you lived in China or North Korea, would you join a protest march?

I really don't understand your problem. There are many countries in the world, including your own.

The message was clear before the protests, any foreigner caught in protests would be deported. He got what he deserves and cannot claim he was not advised beforehand

The title of the topic is pretty misleading to be fair- "Thai-Indian business tycoon" suggests that the business tycoon is a Thai-Indian. Although most people would read beyond the topic before commenting...

What if you're a resident in that country? What if you pay taxes? At what point are people allowed rights? Or do you think they always have to be denied freedom of speech due to not being in that country?

Best I can discern, the source of this 'news' is an unsourced tweet with no links from someone with the New York Times.

I'm not in any way a Yingluck fan, but something doesn't strike me as correct about the story.

Yes, agree...but they should worry about the big stuff. This just looks petulant. Bigger fish to fry

Probably not? I have been married to my Thai Wife for 14 years, but as I understand it, if we move to Thailand, I will be treated like a foreigner as far as immigration is concerned, as far as buying a house is concerned and who knows what else. This has been holding me back from her wish for me to move with her to Thailand. Sort of like walking unvited into someone's house.

Any one with any sense at all that has permission to stay in LOS and is business happy should stay at home and have a beer. coffee1.gif

Warning to those silly old Farang men chanting and blowing whistles and getting into it at protest sites. You've been warned all along don't get involved. I got to take my hat of sometimes to Thai's. They stick together and don't take shit from anybody.

Thai Immigration warned in December via signs on border posts that foreigners joining the protests will be deported:

Let that be a lesson to some of you on here who seem to be taking this situation far too personally. This is not our country and this is not our problem, merely spectate. There is no need to have an opinion because it will never actually matter because you can't vote and will always be seen as an outsider. Just sabai sabai, go to the f'ing islands and have some fun tongue.png be a man/ women of leisure, there is no need to be wasting time on politics in life, isn't that exactly the reason why a lot of us came here ? because we hate our governments ???

There are many Indians working here on business visa without PR or citizenship. Silly silly boy for getting involved.

What the hell is Hi Park?
