Thai Tattoos

anyone here is into thai tattoos or otherwise known as sakyant which are believed to protect its bearer? what are your views on this?

Thai army and police are bringing killed everyday in the south; their dead bodies did show some kind of tattoos, and still penetrable by weapons which is unprotectable. Believe it or not is up to you.
