Maybe going to surprise the PDRC by turning up disguised as a drunken Katoy, false boobies and all.

or of course he may surprise everyone and turn up sober for once

Tense confrontation on Chaengwattana protest site

BgaIux0CIAAtbpm-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Situation at the ant-government protest site on Chaengwattana road is tense before noon today when hundreds of anti-riot police and thousands of protesters are confronting each other with instruction from the Center of the Maintaining of Peace and Order (CMPO) telling all protesters to leave.

The possible forced eviction is expected by this afternoon when CMPO director Chalerm Yoobamrung hinted of a big news for the protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban.

In a press conference before noon, Chalerm showed weapon he claimed were seized during this morning’s operation to evict the two sites of protesters on Ratchadamnern road.

The weapon showed firecracker bombs, iron pellets, urea fertilizer, Bai Krathom leaves.

He vowed that the operation to evict protesters will go on non-stop but said the police would not use force.

By 11.30 a.m. today, anti-riot police with an armored vehicle were moving slowly in a pincer movement from the front and rear of the protest site on Chaengwattana road.

Protesters were retreating as the police slowly moving in cordons with prison trucks on the front line while protesters also were retreating to their last barricade near the protest stage. Their leader Luang Poo Buddhaissara is now heavily surrounded by guards.

Meanwhile unidentified group of people, believed to be red-shirts are reported gathering nearby.

The abbot told all supporters to sit down on the road and prayed.

Earlier in the morning, thousands of anti-riot police under the command of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Kamronvit Thoopkracharng successfully evicted two protest sites of the anti-government protesters at Yaek Misakawan and Chamaimaruches bridge.

There was no resistance at the two sites when police marched along the Ratchadamnoen Avenue to evict the protest sites.

But protest leaders said that the two sites are not their permanent sites but abandoned and occupied only by a small number of protesters at their own.

PDRC leaders held urgent meeting today and all declared firmly that they would never let the police to evict their major encampment at the Interior Ministry.

They vowed to fight to the end but with peaceful means.

This is a bad move when all the granny clappers go home because anybody still there will be facing more than words. I think thats how its been planned to let the innocent protestors move away peacfully. Anybody gets hurt after this point has no complaints

Wow... you mean the same as the warnings in 2010?

Except the difference at this moment is that the Protesters here are non violent!

Watching Chalerm these past 2 weeks, one senses that he has been laying out his trap and taunting Suthep along the way. Psychological pressure increased by small increments.

today was chosen as everyone would be attending temples throughout the country

The police might succeed today in clearing some sites but there will be hell to pay tomorrow for this corrupt lying bunch of thieves - lets see how brave they are when they are facing 1 million on the streets instead of a few elderly ladies praying to buddha (really brave men with Charlerm at the front leading the charge)

1 million on the streets!!!! - the funds are getting too low for all that payroll.

yea wouldnt expect any burning shopping malls or banks today, never mind taking blood from children to throw on peoples houses.

Just come back from a run to Muang Thong Thani where I saw vans of police arriving back at Muang Thong Thani Challenger (next to CMPO), Didn't see the prison vans but plenty of "minivans" with an emblem on the side full of uniformed people. Understandably I am not hanging around to look too closely but it would appear that it is the same lot I saw being drilled 2 weeks ago at the same site returning to base.

Not exactly exciting but certainly holds up with them beating a retreat.

can't keep the mia noi's waiting on valetine's day perhaps.

Just in - CMPO said today operation was to arrest protest leaders not reclaim the rally sites

This was Chalerm's surprise, but went wrong as usual.coffee1.gif

"The weapon showed firecracker bombs, iron pellets, urea fertilizer, Bai Krathom leaves."

Whoa! That's some weapon. Home-made or widely manufactured?

Has there been an announcement about the arrests? Normally this lot announce things they haven't even done yet so I would be surprised if they had arrested them as they would be paraded by now...surely?

Here are a couple of images from Chaengwatthana today.

View of Chaengwatthana, police buildup at rally entrance near soi 14, about 11:20. Many more vehicles including prisoner trucks are further out of view.

You can see more police inside Soi 14 in the upper left of the image.

What do you think he is going to do, set his sons on them?

He will lift his disguise

More Cheangwattahana images.

Last of the police retreating back across the flyover at soi 14, just before 12:00 noon. Notice the police are driving away on both sides of the flyover, which has been closed to traffic since the beginning of the rallies.

Yingluck would have to be out of town and preferably out of the country before Chalerm will be unleashed.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was being set up as a sacrifice by PT/Thaksin. Chalerm "acting on his own" clears out the protesters and arrests the leaders, and is then held responsible for any casualties. This would rid PT of two problems at once!

Unleashed? Chalerm ? you are having a laugh

He has never succeeded at any task .... other than kiss a desert cowards backside

IMO chalerm is in place as a fall guy ... if things go wrong ... he will take the fall for the PTP and I bet he does not even know it

More like emptying his bottles as he gets totally intoxicated. The game has moved on, and Chalerm is still left blabbering about surprises and disguises. A bit like a number of Red Posters.

All in my opinion of course. whistling.gif

They are probably going there to crack down on a 7-11 they heard is selling beer.

"Chalerm says CMPO has surprise for PDRC in afternoon."

Chalerm will resign?

Maybe he's going to turn up in his pink Bentley with a picnic basket full of.... ear medicine... that he's going to share with Suthep to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Or maybe he'll come disguised as Yingluck, then suddenly takes his wig off in front of the stage and cheerfully yells, "Surpriiiise!!!"

Or perhaps he's going to call Suthep from the airport, informing him that he's returning to Denmark for the next five years or so to annoy the hell out of the nice Danes.

Anything is possible with this lunatic.

But he better hurry. It's almost 4 pm and nothing has happened so far that could be construed as a surprise of any kind.

There will be snow in Bangkok , with pigs flying across the DS building before that happens.

What the Automobile Association?

So the Drunken Muppet's surprise this afternoon is his announcement that the Police have failed to crack down on the protestors and as a result, he will resign?

Suthep will be arrested this afternoon. Held 7 days, released by Thai courts, P M will resign saying she had given the order, "no violence", people's council will be formed, democracy dies in Thailand, supreme class will rule. That is till these stupid followers of Suthep realize just where he's coming from. Then all Hell will break loose. And that's the way it was on Saint Valentine's Day 2014 in Thailand. Nuff said, lets just get over with it.

Apparently, he has been arrested. Something's up.

Charlem says he has a Suprise.

The CMPO has bought those Sacks of Rice that were taken from the warhouses in the middle of the night to Pay the Farmers,

They are going to us the Rice Bags instead of Sand Bags as Barriers for the Police.

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

And the surprise is:

A valentine card maybe?

Or a tap on the shoulder by someone looking like Groucho Marx

When a hunter is in pursuit of his quarry, he exercises extreme caution and tact. He gives away nothing.

I would be quite surprised if Mr. Chalerm, a man known for going off 'half cocked', manages to carry out his surprise, as the headline reads, without causing a major stampede.

If, OTOH, he manages to corral Mr .Suthep and secure him this afternoon, then I will post an apology.
