Dawn till dusk exterior lights

Featured Replies

Hi all, just wondering whether anyone can point me in the right direction for sourcing of exterior dawn till dusk low wattage lights, not looking for the lantern shaped ones but preferably the square shaped ones that can be attached to the underside of the roof overhang,, I see some on eBay but unsure about import tax/duty or whatever,,

So I'd really appreciate any local contacts or local online sources

Thanks in advance

The sensors are readily available.

You can easily them up to the lights.

Thanks

Photoswitches are available at pretty well every electrical source I've been in, certainly HomePro, HomeWorks etc.

Easy to connect to existing lights (the switch needs a neutral to function, so ensure there's one available at the switch location) so if you find some lights you like get the sparks to install them with a single switch, they'll all come on together then.

Oh, and ensure the switch can't 'see' the lights, you don't want a disco, do you?

Three wires, usually - Black, White, Red.

Black - Supply Live

White - Supply Neutral

Red - Switched Live (this goes to your lights)

But do read the instructions, ours actually has the wiring diagram printed on it.

We have our gate and driveway lights on a photoswitch, floodlighting on timers so they're not on all night.

Thanks for that crossy, I'll go check the local home pro, my wife has been asking around at 3 or 4 of our electrical shops in town for the set including the lighting but has came away empty handed, maybe the full sets aren't so readily available as the part is in our loco...

Thanks again

Home Pro sell some good dusk-till-dawn motion sensing floodlights. We've had one in use for 12 months now without any problems.

Yes, I've seen the motion sensor floodlights, but not what I'm looking for unfortunately, thanks anyway
