Elon Musk to Scale Back Role in DOGE Amid Tesla Backlash Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that he plans to reduce his involvement in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), following growing criticism that his close ties to former President Donald Trump have negatively impacted Tesla. Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has long been an outspoken supporter of Trump and a leading figure in the administration's efforts to streamline government operations through DOGE. However, he acknowledged during Tesla’s latest earnings call that his association with Trump’s policies has created challenges for the company. “My time allocation to DOGE will drop significantly,” Musk stated, indicating that the shift would likely begin in May. He noted that his contributions to the initiative are now “mostly done.” Still, he intends to maintain some involvement, citing a continued responsibility to safeguard the progress made in reducing waste and fraud within government systems. “I'll have to continue doing it for I think the remainder of the President's term just to make sure the waste and fraud that we stopped does not come roaring back, which it will do if it has the chance,” Musk explained. Despite stepping back from full-time involvement, he said he would still dedicate limited time to government matters. “I think I'll continue to spend a day or two per week on government matters for as long as the President would like me to do so and as long as it would be useful,” he added. Musk acknowledged that his alignment with Trump has brought some "blowback" to Tesla, alluding to reputational issues and public protests tied to his political stance. “There’s been a few bumps in the road,” he said, but he remained confident about Tesla’s long-term prospects. “I encourage people to look beyond the bumps and potholes of the road immediately ahead of us. Lift your gaze to the bright shining citadel on the hill — I don't know, some Reagan-esque imagery — and that's where we're headed.” In a more controversial remark, Musk claimed without offering evidence that some of the protests against Tesla have been fueled by illegitimate financial incentives. “That is the real reason for the protests,” he alleged. “Tesla protesters are receiving fraudulent money from the government.” The decision to step back comes at a pivotal time for Musk, as Tesla navigates market pressures and a divided public perception, amplified by his political engagement. While he may be shifting his focus away from Washington, the influence of his decisions — both corporate and political — continues to draw national attention. Crime Man Takes His Own Life After Assaulting Wife & Believes She is Dead

A 34-year-old man committed suicide in an incident believed to have been triggered by drug-induced paranoia and jealousy, after he violently assaulted his wife and mistakenly believed he had killed her. The incident occurred at a rented room near a restaurant in Village 12, Thung Sukhla Subdistrict, Si Racha District, on 22 April. Police from Laem Chabang Station, led by Pol. Sub-Lt. Issarapong Thaveeyoskeerati, along with local detectives and rescue volunteers from Sawang Prateep Sri Racha Foundation, responded to the scene. Officers discovered the body of Mr Wichet, who had hanged himself with a checkered cloth tied to a ceiling fan. It was estimated he had been dead for approximately five to six hours. His 32-year-old wife recounted that an argument had erupted earlier, fuelled by Wichet’s jealousy and paranoia after using drugs. He accused her of being unfaithful and demanded she resign from her job. The confrontation escalated into violence, with Wichet striking and strangling her until she lost consciousness. When she eventually regained consciousness, she found her husband had taken his own life, apparently believing she had died from the assault and, in a moment of guilt and remorse, decided to end his own life. Police suspect that the man’s suicide was a result of this mistaken belief. His body has been transferred to Laem Chabang Hospital for a detailed post-mortem examination. Perhaps unhinged is the wrong term perhaps malignant would be more appropriate. You seem to spend your time trying to defend the obiously indefensible strange that.personally I find it perfectly normal….nay duty to defend your country when you feel it being assaulted.
