Which of my stuff will work in Thailand?

Featured Replies

Panasonic plasma TV, about 4 years old. Has built in Freesat which I assume won't work?

FM Radios? Radio frequencies are the same around the globe right? Any English stations in Thailand?

Printers? Should just connect up to a wifi signal and print like usual or?

DVD player?

Googled and searched old threads and couldn't find a similar topic since 2007.

OK you're from the UK (had to Google Freesat).

Power is compatible so everything will work, but:-

The Freesat tuner won't work, if your TV has HDMI or Composite (RCA) connectors all will be well (if your TV has SCART get a SCART to RCA converter in the UK) to work with satellite or cable. BUT plasma TVs are delicate, if you don't have the original packaging the chances of it getting here intact are not good. Leave it it at home and buy an LED telly here.

FM radio will work, channel spacing is the same as the UK, one or two English stations in BKK and the tourist areas.

DVD player will work, you'll need to remove the region lock (Google is your friend) if you want to play local DVDs.
