The dem's pdrc/pcad is at the core of the flaming the rice farmers. What had they done to help the farmers under the rice pledging scheme which they have been trying to 'murder'?

It was dead the minute PTP enacted the policy, what have PTP done to help the farmers? Made them poorerwai.gif

PM not to attend office to avoid confrontation with protesters

BANGKOK, 19 February 2014, (NNT) -- The Chief of Public Relations at the Office of the Defence Minister, Maj. Gen. Surachat Jitjang, has disclosed that PM Yinluck Shinawatra decided not to work at the Office of the Permanent Secretary of Defence at Muang Thong Thani today as anti-government protesters have gathered around the area to pressure the PM to resign.

The People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) protesters, led by Suthep Thuagsuban, went to Muang Thong Thani this morning hoping to pressure the PM and government officials there into resignations

However, the decision for the PM to avoid going into the office came as further tension was predicted. PM Yingluck is concerned that her presence may lead to confrontation between protesters and security officials, which could also have an impact on members of the public in the area.

Maj. Gen. Surachat stated that key government figures wouldn't be at Muang Thong Thani today, and the protesters are welcomed to inspect the area. Updates will be given to the press every hour to inform the public of the latest situation.

...

Indeed the consequence of her brothers action are affecting his sister and her cronies in no uncertain manner. Never mind Thaksin is safe and sound elsewhere and he is not in the least concerned about the fate of his expendable political pawns in his relentless malicious pursuit of absolute power.

...

I was thinking along the same lines just before running across your post.

When a new government takes over and Thaksin and Yingluck are living in Dubai in the lap of luxury, living off the spoils of their crimes, would it be in the new government's power, as well as moral responsibility, to press official charges against them by involving Interpol to apprehend them and return them to Thailand to face punishment?

Praise be given to her, she wants to avoid confrontations

Of course since she likes to say "let us talk" staying away is not really helpful.rolleyes.gif

This yet again shows a complete lack of leadership, a total disregard for the entire Thai population, a continued trait of irresponsibility, a proven record of dereliction in duty and zero integrity. How can any self-respecting voter irrespective of flag colour support such a person?

Zero integrity, that say's it all

What has the caretaker government done to help the farmers is more the question.

After all it was the greatest idea of the man from Dubai, who as I remember from before the last election promised to make everybody "rich" in six months, and the TOTAL responsibility of the PTP government and PM Yingluck to make it so.

Where did it go wrong and whose responsibility was it?

Surely not the PTP as they keep saying it is/was/and always will be somebody elses fault.

I wonder who those 'perpetrators' were who put up the nail traps. Waiting for CMPO Chalerm to state the PDRC did it, or some posters here to suggest it was just a group of 'concerned citizens' who happened to have a few nailtraps laying around. rolleyes.gif

I'm just surprised you didn't make a fuss about the phrase "eliminate". It was a regular feature in your posts for quite a while.

Mind you, I suppose you're not so upset if the talk is to "eliminate" the so called Thaksin regime, eh, rubl?

Thailand's caretaker premier a 'no show' at work today
By Digital Content

BANGKOK, Feb 19 – Thailand's caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra did not show up for work at her temporary office at the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defence today to avoid escalating tensions as the office is now surrounded by anti-government protesters.

Maj-Gen Surachart Jitjang, public relations chief of the Office of the Defence Minister, told the media that Ms Yingluck’s absence was due to concerns that her appearance at her temporary office in the Muang Thong Thani convention centre may spark violence and affect local residents in those areas.

People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) demonstrators from all rally sites in Bangkok arrived at the permanent secretary for defence office this morning to tighten pressure on the embattled caretaker premier. The protesters, however, are prohibited from entering the army premises.

Regarding protesters’ calls for the military not to allow Ms Yingluck to enter her temporary office, Maj-Gen Surachart explained that the army had to arrange office space for the caretaker premier as she also serves as caretaker Defence Minister. He said that army personnel otherwise are still working as usual today despite Ms Yingluck’s absence.

Maj-Gen Surachart called on the public to take extra precaution while being outside as nails were found scattered on Cheang Wattana Road this morning to obstruct the work of the authorities. (MCOT online news)

So, she stayed away avoiding stirring up a confrontation.Heinous crime, but on the face of it, the best thing to do. Let us talk - if you're going to use that as an accusation, rubl,at least have the good grace to direct it at that strutting Prat, suthep, whose idea of discussion is spewing bile every night.

And while we're at it will someone explain to the person responsible for the OP, the huge difference between "fleeing an angry mob" and staying away.

This is no surprise from a non-leader. Never showed up at even 1 rice pledging scam meeting. Another argument in the long, long lists of reasons to impeach the incompetent woman. Cowardice is in the family gene.

Joke of the world. Its gonna catch up to her. Can't even talk the talk, let alone walk the walk.

Impeach? I think the farmers actually want to impale her...

I think so! If they'd stop making their plans and intended locations known and broadcasted, they could corner her and get her to reach some sort of agreement...or consequence. Problem that occurs again and again, is that she knows no consequences in a childish way. Some serious heat with her in a corner among angry protesters might finally get her to resign, and be shaken up by all the bad decisions, lying and lack of accountability.

I bet there are no nail traps on the route to the Gucci store giggle.gif

Misogynism rules - and no, it's not OK. Ever.

You and the rest of the TV forum's verbal abusers need to get a life, grow a pair and realise that this world was not delivered as a gift to the male sex complete with females to serve and be victims. It's men and their predisposition to violence which has , so far, almost wrecked this planet through greed, wars, riots and suchlike.

You've had your fun, now can it and give the woman some credit for her non-violent stance up to now. It's not her fault she's got a brother!

Well, thanks for pointing the eliminate out to me. I guess I missed that. Still an anti-government protest leader calling for 'eliminate the Thaksin regime' is more in line with what you'd expect from a leader of a violent, armed rent-a-thug mob (as some like to call them), wouldn't you say. I mean a UDD leader turned Pheu Thai party list MP calling for the 'eradication of democrats' would be more suspect, especially coming from a 'democracy against dictatorship' leader. Mind you, his wife must be the bad influence, she said it was time to wipe out the last of the reactionaries.

She stayed away to avoid having to confront those angry farmers and having a need to explain to them why they are still waiting for their money. Maybe she thought that telling them it was the fault of the anti-government protesters wouldn't help this time.

As for 'fleeing an angry mob', well the topic title is only on 'flees angry farmers' although the topic describes she decided not to go to work (there).

BTW Suthep is not having discussions with Yingluck , he simply reiterates the need for her to step down and go away. That's not the same as Ms. Yingluck saying "we want to talk" following by her local CMPO head vowing to get Suthep. Probably because she really wants to talk wink.png

But her arm wasn't twisted to take the job. She's an adult, she made a decision and she must live with it.

She deliberately hasn't engaged in anything real in terms of running the country, and developing Thailand for all Thais.

Non-violent, well that's good but it doesn't mean she's highly capable or sincere.

In fact what has she done in terms of policy and/or legislation to provide a better and fairer playing field which would generate a better quality of life for a big % of all Thai citizens through their own productivity.

Nothing, not one word.
