Farmers cancel Suvarnabhumi Airport protest plan

webfact

Recommended Posts

The farmers made a wise decision. Don't be used by the dem's pdrc/pcad to seize airports. They should do it if they want and face the rule of law. May be that will force the CC to dissolved PTP immediately. Just like previously they dissolved PPP and its coalition partners without calling 300 defense witnesses and the right for the accused to defense.

Huh.. what are you talking about?

If its about Samak and dissolving PPP like you state then get it right. It is civil court not criminal court. The act broke the rules..

Anyone stopped to consider that Chada Thaiseth may have set this motorized march up for his own gain from the very start?

Think about it.

Assemble the farmers and help to organize this huge protest and then on the final day before they reach BKK drop the bomb shell declaring that their destination is Swampy, knowing that this would strike terror in quite a lot of hearts. Then just before they reach their destination and objectives, strike a deal for an 'undisclosed' amount, probably from a bank account in Dubai.

He would have known that a negotiation would have been forthcoming. Surely he would have also known that a cash settlement to turn the mob around would be equally forthcoming seeing as he is an ex-MP and all that, so he knows how it works.

Agreed to feed the farmers a BS story on behalf of the govt and offer to pay all their diesel and expenses for the return trip.

This was all too sudden for comfort.

This is Yingluck and the PTP so we have to assume that cynical and underhand methods have been employed, because without a nice backhander, I doubt these farmers would have swallowed this BS about being paid next week again.

Maybe all the farmers have had their voucher numbers taken by the finance ministry, and promised they will be paid in full (only those farmers in the march) in which case a few thousand rice pledging vouchers may only come to a few hundred million, which may not be much of an ask from the government who is actually selling a bit of rice at the moment in their auctions.

Makes sense, but if it breaks that the protesting farmers all got their money, I can see a swarm heading for the airport.

They want paying and thats all, they also unlike you and your ra ra ra lets all go over the top had the sense to make a point without acting like children and looking like a bunch of witless idiots.

Far as I can see the farmers have been acting in a much more logical, restrained and adult way than either the Gov or the PDRC.

You clearly want to see anarchy and so do the PDRC the farmers want justice and payment without the anarchy part. Who do you think is acting in an adult manner here ?

Well looks like they just got lied to again, right into their faces. And they still believe they're going to get paid by this government. I guess you can't blame the desperate for having hope. It's the same as buying a lottery ticket and hoping to strike it rich.

Nope. They were given a face saving way out of being used by Suthep.

The farmers have a legitimate gripe, but they realize that the government has done its utmost to get them their money. It doesn't take a genius to realize that Suthep has done everything he can to block their payment.

The rice farmers may not have much love for the government, but they are not about to help a group of thugs who ridicule them and that has the potential to hurt them more.

that was the game from the beginning by Suthep , blocking everything by any means so payments / elections and more can not go , just creating chaos hoping the military should step in and side him so he could save his nek from the murder case , actions from a desperate loony , but dangerous for his country and a shame for the word "democraty "

Watching him with his bodylanguage and mouth Thaksin start looking like an angel (wich he aint ..! )

Payments have not been made because the scheme is an utter failure.. No other reason.

There you go misrepresenting the facts again!

Why is there a run to withdraw money from the Banks, The rich Elites orders so the farmers not get paid, Why on the threads of Thailand news Suthep threatens any bank not to OK loans to pay the farmers!

In your little world you may believe what you want, but here in the real world open minds know different!

Cheers

Was it ever panned in the first place or just an attempt at a 'headline grabber' which probably caused undue worry to travellers.

It worries me that so many people on this site appear to take any 'story' reported as 'factual' ??

There is so much miss-information being reported on Thai Visa - especially the way the headlines are worded in the e mail notifications - please be more honest and try and not simply think 'what can we say to get members to click the link' - perhaps this is what is measured by paying advertisers as Thai Visa is now becoming very commercial!

There's also mention that nobody can work out when / where the 'leader' could have actually met yingluck.

There is an article in Bangkok Post under Opinions about this: Rice farmers "conned" by Chada

Also, a few days ago AOT (Airports of Thailand), from their surplus of 40 Billion Baht, refused to borrow 37 Billion Baht to the BAAC for rice pledging. http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/aot-management-denies-lending-help-pay-farmers/

That was when Chada said the farmers will change route to Suvarnabhumi!!

So was this also a link in the "Thaksin plot" to punish/blackmail/pressure Airports of Thailand (AOT) to get his hands on thatmoney?

That's it? Really? After all the missed deadlines, a simple "I'll pay you next week" is enough? Sheesh...

With the farmer's ongoing pattern of continually voting for Thaksin clones

who then screw them over, I am beginning to think their learning

curve is pretty limited. Given all the broken promises to pay them, I

am somewhat astounded they would accept another promise soon to

be broken and head home. Amazing Thailand indeed.....

Why they have to even plan to seize the airport

Most people that use the international airport are not even voters but foreigners

Why do they have to take there political problems out on outsiders

Cheap and nasty move which shall just anger the rest of the world and get the attention for all the wrong reasons

worse yet....every time there is a problem....we have to worry about the airport getting seized. It is becoming fashionable to go after tourism.
