Hi all.

Next week I'm getting my Affirmation of freedom to marry from my embassy.

Where do I take this, along with the translation now that Chaengwatthana is closed? Been searching around online and no luck so far.

Any help is greatly appreciated, along with reports on what the immigration posts are like with queues etc. at present.

Thanks in advance TV!

From a confused Thaiwi.

If you are looking to get married the Affirmation alongside other paperwork needs to be taken to an Amphur.

Your girl friend will explain and show you the way !

Before you go to the amphur the affirmation letter must be translated into Thai and next certified by the Thai Foreign Ministry, consulair affairs at CW-road proper. Op is asking about this.

The service is currently offered at another location. Have your GF look here for more info: www.consular.go.th

or: temporary Contact number for Consular affairs 023838402-4

Not sure but several of the offices have re-opened in the Chiang Watanna area - believe only building B where immigration police are located is closed (but even there believe some offices are open). But most translation services will take care of the registration at a nominal fee so I would use them.

Hello!

Thanks for the quick reply. The fiancée has checked out the attached link and Central, Bang Na is close to us. So this will be perfect for the authentication.

I'm aware of everything else required. But just wasn't sure on the above.

Once again, TV never fails.

Any idea on how much of a nightmare the office is, read reports a while back saying things are taking all day. But sure about recently.

Cheers again all,

Enjoy your night!

Let me know how it goes on this thread I just had my paperwork sent back after 2 weeks of sitting at the Chiang Watana mail annex. We will also call that number provided good information and saved me a post. We were told that office was closed and I know Chaing is closed also.

I can confirm the passport situation. Fiancée went to renew hers yesterday. Arriving shortly after 7:00am she was given the ticket number 857 of the 1000 or so allowed each day. Shortly after 3pm she got to submit her documents successfully. We are expecting it sent early next week. Will definitely report back RE: the affirmation authentication.

even before the recent closures everything to do with this office seems to take all day as you enter your documents AM and return PM for pick up

however hopefully you will only do this once a day mare rather a night mare biggrin.png

You cdon't have to wait if oyu don't need the documents in a hurry.

for 60 baht they send it to your home by EMS, just takes a few days. Only for express service do you have to wait.

Hi, i can confirm 100% bang na, shopping center top floor. I was at it a couple of weeks ago for the same thing. 400/200 baht i paid, im not sure.it took 3 hours waiting for it. However when i went to the ampur with my now wife the ampur said they also wanted a copy of my passport and visa confirmed by my embassy and for it to be translated and confirmed by the same legal department at bang na. However we just went to my wifes home town ampur and they never asked for this. Bangkok ampurs i found to be problematic so i would suggest go outside maybe your wifes home town ampur where it is more easy and not so formal.
