Surapong to invite UN secretary general to advise solution

BANGKOK: -- Caretaker Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said Wednesday that he will invite United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon to advise how to find a solution for the nation.

Surapong said the political conflicts had worsened to the level that four children had been killed so he would like to seek advice from the UN chief.

He said the UN had experience on how to find solutions for several countries, such as Syria, Ukraine, Egypt and Rwanda.

Surapong said if the conflicts and violence continued in Thailand, the international community would have no confidence in the kingdom.

For Thaksin - of all people - to have his cousin - of all people - approach Moon on the mess and the conflict that they have themselves created, puts Moon in the uncomfortable position of having to stifle all the knowledge he has about Thaksin and pose for pictures with Yingluck - which is precisely the image Thaksin wants to register. It is a manipulation of Moon. For Moon's visit to have balance - if the invitation is accepted - he should be allowed to meet with the protest movement, and hear their side of the story. Moon will be very interested to hear that the prime minister did not go to Trat or Ratchaprason. He will be very interested to learn that the UDD has openly called on Yingluck to defy the independent agencies and the courts. He will be very interested to learn that the NACC may be physically impeded tomorrow from proceeding with an impeachment investigation.

The International community already have no confidence or really care about Thailand because Thailand is of no importance to anybody apart from Thais. Successive Governments have continually propagated selfishness, corruption and greed so now your bed is made you have to sleep on it. Caretaker Prime Minister Ha Ha ,..An injustice to caretakers. I wouldn't trust any of them to close my office toilet windows at night.

Do the Thai's really think that there is concern about the current matters here by the U.N. apart from lip service as a window dressing exercise?

Will the Thai's actually take notice and even act upon any advice given by any foreigners who don't understand ''Thainess?"

Somehow I doubt it. the whole matter has been broached as this bunch of inept caretakers in reality haven't a clue of how to react to the fact that at last the public expect the politicians to be their servants not a family business intent on nothing more than self enrichment and rampant political incest known as nepotism.

'Surapong to invite UN secretary general to advise solution'

...... and ignore the advice completely, if it doesn't align with PTP's own agenda/ opinion (ie-voice of Thaksin).

At least, going by a quite consistent track record, that is what we can only expect to happen.
