Chalerm moves to new office for safety reason after grenade attack

BANGKOK: -- Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) director Chalerm Yubamrung has decided to move to a new office following an M79 grenade attack Wednesday night which he suspected was targeted against his office.

Accompanied by Pol Gen Worapong Chiewpreecha, the deputy police chief, and Pol Lt-Gen Kamrongwit Thoopkrachang, the metropolitan police commissioner, Chalerm yesterday inspected Soi Vibhavadi 60 suspsected to be the location where the M79 grenades were fired.

Two grenades landed on the car park of Thai PBS which is next to the Police Club but only one exploded damaging a car and the other grenade landed close to the shelter of Bung Karn police inside the Police Club where CMPO has an office.

Chalerm said his office was within 370 metre radius from the spot in Soi Vibhavadi 60 where the grenades were fired but the effective range of the grenades was 400 metres. He added that the shooter intended to fire the grenades at his office.

The CMPO director further said that the shooter was well versed with the weapons and the areas around the Police Club and knew where his office was located inside the Police Club.

As such, he admitted that it would be too risky if he continued to use the same office. For safety and comfort, he said he should move his office beyond the 400-range effective shooting range.

God, this guy is a massive tool.

Correction! He is a rich, influential, massive tool.

Unfortunately the first two adjectives supersede anything else in Thailand. You can be a drug-dealing pedo but if you're rich and influential, people here will kiss your feet.

It's a sad day when all Thailand has to choose between are Taksin and Suthep. Then again it's to be expected. We're talking about a country that voted (or sold their votes to) the odious Samak to be Bangkok governor and Prime Minister. Som nom na! The old adage that people get the politicians they deserve has been proven true in this country. Thai people have voted for corrupt godfathers and out-and-out crooks for decades, now they're acting all shocked that these villains are ripping them and the country off. Give me a break!

Chalerm, the hero of Thailand, always in the fore of any action.

Of course the daily and evening battles with the bottle is excluded as he is the undisputed and on top-of-the-leaders ladder in this area.

"Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in-for-me !", from Carry-On Caesar, I think ? rolleyes.gif

But doesn't former-DPM caretaker-Labour Minister Chalerm trust the BiBs, to catch the grenade-throwers in-short-time, despite their amazing record with catching all the shooters/bombers of peaceful anti-government protesters ? Why ever not ? wink.png

Always in the fore of action. Unless he running to the rear.

Did he move his office to Cambodia or Malaysia???

Can't go back to Denmark because of unpaid depth to a couple of ear medicine vendors in Copenhagen?

Btw: Someone missed a target by 370m with a weapon that has a firing range of 400m. When will they take these dangerous toys out of the hands of children?
