OVER 65?

Featured Replies

Over 65 now, living in Thailand to,be close to my half Thai Grandchildren. Currently have an O multi entry Visa, due to,be replaced in April. Thai Embassy UK confirmed via e mail to me that when over 65 you only need to,prove you have a British Pension, of any amount to be granted a one hear muliti entry Visa. You must provide 3 mths bank statements with UK address on or the Annual Pension Service letter.

My question is has anyone got a new one year in this way without travelling back to,the UK each year?

I know about the other types of Visas, the money in the bank blah blah, just interested in this over 65's one.....

Many thanks !!

It only applies to getting a multiple entry non-o visa in the UK. You will not get it anywhere else.

That is the requirements for applying for a Non Imm O Multi Entry Visa in UK.

You cannot get it in Thailand.

Goo luck with this one Lynn. I am in the same boat with my visa expiring May 4 this year although I am led to believe if I go out of the country before May 1 (the visa expiry date) I can get a further 90 days as it is multi-entry like yours.

I asked this question a couple of months ago and was given all the advice about income, money in bank etc. but my visa is the same as yours i.e. I am over 65 and just had to show proof of receipt of a pension in the UK.

I fear that for renewal it means a return to the UK to obtain the same 12 month visa but I hope I am wrong!!!

Unless you can qualify with 800k in bank account here 2 months or income of 65k per month or a combination to meet 800k per year for extensions of stay within Thailand from Immigration the multi entry visa issue over age 65 with show of any type of pension appears to be unique to the UK and thus would require a trip there every 15 months or so.

As long as you do a border run prior to your visas enter before date you will get a another 90 day entry,

You will not get not get an extension of stay here without meeting the standard financial proof. Nor will you get another visa from any nearby location.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected :-)

Thank you for all the advice !

For an extension of stay from Thai Immigration at one of there friendly locations in the Kingdom you need to meet the financial requirements of 65,000baht a month income or 800,000baht in a Thai bank for 2 months first application and 800,000baht for 3 months for each application after the first one. You can have a combination of the two methods monthly income and bank deposit totaling 800,000baht
