PATTAYA: -- In the early hours of Thursday, Police were called to an apartment complex in North Pattaya to assist a British National who had returned to his apartment to find that items of value contained in a room safe, had been stolen.

Police met with Mr. Mohammad Safai-Rad aged 60, born in Iran and holding a British Passport, at the Success Apartments at the Northern-end of Pattaya Second Road.

He had gone out for one hour and returned to find the front door to his apartment was open and his safe-box had been stolen. Inside was reportedly 5,000 Baht, 50 Chinese Yuan and 300 pounds Sterling.

"Success" apartments...gotta love the names for these dumps. Yuan, sterling, and baht...what was he running, a money exchange business?

A safe in Pattaya is designed to show where the valuables are

Maybe the British man in Thailand had been to or planned a trip to China?

How do they select which break-ins get published?

Is it the quality of the finger pointing?

- my place was broken into, I did some very nice finger pointing, some 80,000 Baht's worth of stuff was taken. No mention in the media.

- Neighbour was broken into, lost about 50,000 Baht. No mention in the media. Defintely some good finger pointer photoshots though.

and so on.

This guy above, clearly living in an upmarket condo, nice wardrobe and drawers loses 20,000 Baht and ends up making news?

He was lucky, he could have lost all his shirts. cheesy.gif cheesy.gif cheesy.gif

Or, looking again, maybe he was unlucky not to? Would have been able to buy some new ones. cheesy.gif cheesy.gif cheesy.gif

Iranian man with British passport in Thailand having Chinese notes.

Man goes out for 1 hour in early hours of the morning.

And, surprisingly, no mention of a ladyboy.

I smell a rat.

reportedly 5,000 Baht, 50 Chinese Yuan and 300 pounds Sterling.

At least the amounts that he reported as stolen are reasonable and realistic. So many alleged thefts involve vast sums of different currencies, gold, multiple expensive mobile devices, etc.,

When something like that happens, the stress caused by the new awareness of one's vulnerability can be worse than the loss of money.

I also wonder how it is decided what crimes or deaths are reported here on TV. The reports seem to serve no other purpose than to give bored members a chance to make childish jokes. So, arbitrarily selected people who have been robbed or have died fairly un-newsworthy deaths are then made to suffer the further indignity of being held up to public ridicule. TiTV.

I dont understand so much bashing about that guy ... for those making fun of him , lets hope one day some burglars will go to your places ... Its not fun at all and make fun of others show how smart people can be here .
