In amsterdam they have a special luggage drop desk. Maybe they have in Bangkok too, or it will be just one row of the check-in desks. If not, you don't win much time with it and just get in on of the check-in rows.

I knew there was a drop off point in Amsterdam but the website has little to say about Bangkok unfortunatley.

As you say if there is not one in BKK then you gain very little other than being able to select your seat.

If no one knows i will post when i get back to the UK and advise.

Well we are no further forward i/m afraid.

Left Pattaya at 6.15pm managed to make Bangkok airport at 10.10pm! for a 11.10pm flight.............roadworks and heavy rain made what should of been a 2 hour trip into 4 hours.......(wont even mention the worst traffic snarl ups ive ever seen in Bangkok)

Anyway got to checkin and everbody had gone through already so ended up going to the normal checkin desk to drop bags off, followed by a mad rush through passport control , buy some cigs and straight to the gate for boarding.

So we are back to square one................maybe you can let us know how you get on in July Scotsman.

I flew with KLM in March and April, if I remember rightly, all the details are on the website, after extensive reading. I think Amsterdam is the only airport with the special baggage drop off, along with Manchester and LHW in UK. Don't quote me on that but, we did everything as you normally would, the checking in online was cool as we got exit seats but, the proccess of checking in didn't seem to change, maybe we did it wrong.

Then they sent our bags Leningrad. We'd arrived late and the woman on internal passport control put LED on our bags, thinking LEEDS would be LED, but Leeds is Leeds Bradford airport, LBA.

I hope I dont get all that traffic problems on july 31st :o I will let you know how I get on but it does say in the klm web site that if there is no drop of point at your airport you can use the first class check in desk.

Hi I would like to pass on this information that there is no problem with checking in your bags at the first class check in desk at bangkok with klm on e-tickets if you have checked in and have your boarding pass. :o
